What is in-American is what happens to those who inherit a large estate, but can't afford to pay the estate tax, and then has to sell it or just let it go if there is no buyer.
But I guess the ingrained class warfare will not create any sympathy from the left. |

All this worry and hand wringing on the right about extremely wealthy folks being ripped off by the federal government should be a paramount concern for all Americans. We need to protect the rich and their wealth to ensure that some of their money will trickle down to benefit those in need. Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Really, without our concern and support for the very wealthy folks in America, there wouldn't be any jobs for the poor souls like us trying to make ends meet. |

Heh, swc, every time you try to be sarcastic, you swerve into the truth.
I especially like the part, "poor souls like us trying to make ends meet", since when have you been a poor soul?
Liberal bleeding hearts aren't "poor souls".
Also "wealthy folks being ripped off" isn't always the case, that's using the wrong assumption that the recipients of the estate are always already wealthy.
Try again if you must. |

I hope they do eliminate the inheritance tax. It's a f##king disgrace.
You pay taxes your entire life, save enough AFTER PAYING TAXES, and then the greedy thief's tax you again.
Only a libtard would be against ending such an overreaching tax as the inheritance tax. |
trust fund kids are a clear and present danger to any country. the founders recognized it... that was what america was founded under stopping the aristocrats... _________________ when good people stay silent the right wing are the only ones heard. |

NW30, sometimes it's fun to play around with right wing talking points. Actually though, there are a lot of folks that eat that crap up just like religion. There doesn't have to be any truth in it at all. All you need is belief and faith.
Keep up your worry and deep seated concern for the wellbeing of the super rich. You're such a bleeding heart for the right. And, who knows, maybe just around the corner you'll be the heir to a 100 million dollar estate, and you can thank and pray to Donald Trump when you collect every cent of it. |

And practically thinking, billionaires set up phony trust funds and donate half of their money to THEMSELVES. Trump will never pay taxes anyway. Inheritance tax should be eliminated. |

mrgybe, why did I know that you would step out with an ugly insult? Just a brief mention of religion and faith that would predictably raise your hackles. Actually, the comment was bait for you, and you couldn't resist. Religious folks are always ready to target non-believers. |

In today's paper--banks operated by Steven Mnuchin "violated state laws at least 1,000 times in ...foreclosures...". Doing things like backdating documents and manipulating bids. You righties must be so proud. Thieves hang out together. |

Trump never planned to drain the swamp. His short tenure is intended to give away as much Federal land as possible to big businesses. This is how it is done:
Quote: |
JACK FITZPATRICK | JANUARY 6, 2017
Critics of a House measure that would encourage federal land transfers say Republicans took an unprecedented step to avoid congressional accounting requirements, while its author says the issue is a special circumstance.
The House passed its rules package on Tuesday, including a measure that calls on Congress not to count lost revenue when considering legislation that would transfer federal lands to a state, local or tribal government. Under the rule, which only applies to the House, the Congressional Budget Office could still inform members of the lost revenue from federal lands, but it wouldn’t count the revenues for the official purposes of “scoring” a bill.
Ignoring the lost revenue will allow Congress to pass a land-transfer bill without jumping through two burdensome hoops, Natural Resources Chairman Rob Bishop (R-Utah), who authored the provision, told Morning Consult in a Friday phone interview.
First, lawmakers wouldn’t be required to offset the cost by cutting other spending, under the House’s “pay as you go” budget requirements. Second, no other members would be able to block the bill using a budgetary point of order. The latter, Bishop said, is used by opponents of land-transfer bills to block the legislation because of their policy objections, rather than actual budget concerns. |
For those of you who only read Breitbart and think I only read lefty sources--this is from Morning Consult--one of the news sources for energy companies. They plan to acquire land for mineral and energy development. James Watt is back. One or two jobs should be enough for the Matty's on the right. |
