last time I measured water temp, it was 50 degrees in the middle of the AuxDam arm. Since then, however, we had almost a week of cold weather, plus snow at lake level, so I'm afraid it is now rather less than that. I'll measure again in a few days, when its time to move some of my marker buoys |

Eva ... Thanks for keeping us up to date on lake sailing conditions. .. Will Aux Dam renovation work impact summer 2017 sailing? |

very little!
what is slated for this summer is work on moving the restrooms, dump station, and camp host base; as well as addition of a connector dirt road between Auxiliary and Old Isabella.
The actual shovel-to-dirt work on the AuxDam is not slated to start until the fall, and will then cause about 1/2 the AuxDam RecArea to be roped off as a staging area; plus one hell of a racket |

Thanks, Eva!
I may be coming by that way next month. Hope my 5/3 is good enough for then.

don't know about you, but I don't fall in all that much, and don't go out when air is much below 55 degrees. In those conditions, the wetsuit is not the issue (I wear a 3/2 through the winter), but my hands and feet need consideration. I wear sealskin socks inside my booties, which seems to help; and for my hands, I wear dishwashing gloves when its very windy, and bring hot water in a cooler, to thaw out every half hour or so |

Hi Eva,
Thanks for the tips.
I expect February to not be very windy. I would think March would be the month the wind shows up at Isabella, but you would know better than I.
At this point, though, I am not sure whether I will be there in February or in March. |
