Trump crime syndicate

we have many convictions by jurys now on the trump induced criminals many who have remained silent to get the ultimate motivator in being a criminal a pardon. I believe the lawyers that dangled pardons for silence were committing crimes and should be given 10 years for first offence to multiple times life imprisonments. Ya this liberal is tough on crime, just as I believe crimes in the millions to billions should be sentences for life imprisonment. A employer get caught with 10 or more unverified workers get 10 year sentences, get caught with more than 3 times get 10 years, and that includes the CEO. As we know Devin Nunes farm was caught with several hundred employees without legal social security numbers, about 2/3 of them. Verifying employee is free with the federal gov.

So anyway we have another of trumps top people pleading guilty.

Mark Meadows to plead guilty in deal to testify against Trump: report

Quote:
Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows will reportedly plead guilty as part of a plan to indict former President Donald Trump.

Sources told Andrew Feinberg of The Independent that Meadows' decision to plead guilty was connected to his testimony to a grand jury hearing evidence about Jan. 6 and the mishandling of classified documents.

"It is understood that the former North Carolina congressman will plead guilty to several federal charges as part of a deal for which he has already received limited immunity in exchange for his testimony," Feinberg wrote.

Feinberg also reported that special counsel Jack Smith is prepared to ask for an indictment of Trump as soon as Thursday.

where is the media noting that kenny boy Starr and his now supreme idiot judge rappy Kav wanted to arrest clinton the day after he left the whitehouse but Clinton struck a deal to be suspended from the bar and so on. Clinton left the Whitehouse in debt as he did not have the rich giving him defence money for the 6 or so years right wing trust fund kids financed legal attacks on Clinton.

remember the right wing ultra rich trust fund kids did bring a lawsuit when clinton was president and a right wing judge made him be deposed when he was president on a civil case. Paula jones even had a nose job paid for by the trust funder. Paulas lawsuit was over she said she was deigned promotions when Clinton was president, yet clinton was about 3 layers away from her boss.

And rember the right wing demanded a special counsel to investigate Jimmy Carter as they accused him of making extra money because he was president on his peanut farm business. That was peanuts vs the 2 billion the Saudis gave the trump crime syndicate a few months after getting out of office.

GOP Rushes To Trump's Defense After He Is Indicted For A Second Time

Quote:
In the hours since Donald Trump revealed that the Justice Department is set to indict him for egregious mishandling of classified documents and attempts to mislead investigators, his allies in the GOP have lined up to insist that the prosecution means the country’s foundations as a democracy are at stake.

“If the people in power can jail their political opponents at will, we don’t have a republic,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) wrote on Twitter.

“We're living in a 3rd world Banana Republic and the only way to stop what the corrupt Biden DOJ is doing is to put @realDonaldTrump back in the White House!!!” Donald Trump Jr. asserted, also on Elon Musk’s microblogging website. (A common thread among GOP complaints is a misunderstanding of what a “banana republic” is, unless they are suggesting Joe Biden is in the pocket of Chiquita Banana.)

In fact, the United States is something of an outlier, even among advanced democracies, in not convicting its former (or current) leaders of crimes. A brief sampling, including appearances from some of the GOP’s favorite staunch American allies, Taiwan and Israel:

• In France, police searched the home of former President Nicolas Sarkozy, and he is now appealing two 2021 convictions on corruption charges. In 2011, Sarkozy’s predecessor, Jacques Chirac, was found guilty of embezzlement during his years as mayor of Paris and faced a two-year suspended sentence.
• Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also facing corruption charges in a trial that has stretched on for more than four years. Another Israeli prime minister, Ehud Olmert, served 16 months in prison for taking bribes.
• Argentinian Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has been convicted of fraud, but remains in office as she appeals.
• In Peru, six of the past seven presidents have served time in prison.
• Former Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian ultimately served six years in prison following two bribery convictions.

In total, 78 countries have jailed or prosecuted a former leader since the turn of the century, according to Axios. And while it would have been further in the past, it’s likely that only then-President Gerald Ford’s decision to pardon disgraced former President Richard Nixon prevents the United States from also being on this list.

Now, do some dictatorships jail their political opponents? Of course. But those dictatorships generally don’t give their opponents a trial before a jury of their peers, or allow the trial to be overseen by a judge appointed by the defendant, or grant the opportunity to file the numerous appeals Trump is certain to make.

And the ability to throw a leader in jail, to punish them for the same crimes for which anyone else would be punished, is one of the key things separating liberal democracies from both the divine-right monarchies that predated them and the authoritarian systems that hope to replace them.

In fact, prosecuting former leaders is so common that we can even say a conviction wouldn’t necessarily end Trump’s political career. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the Brazilian prime minister who faced charges that actually were trumped-up nonsense, was able to come back to power. Netanyahu won another term as prime minister in a 2022 election despite the ongoing investigation. Silvio Berlusconi, the former Italian prime minister, remains a major player in Italian politics despite a 2013 conviction on tax fraud charges.

In his excellent book “Watergate: A New History,” journalist Garrett Graff recounts a conversation between Leon Jaworski, the man who took over the special prosecutor job investigating then-President Nixon following the infamous Saturday Night Massacre, and the journalist Teddy White.

That morning, the Supreme Court had ruled in Jaworski’s favor: They affirmed that the Justice Department had the power to sue the president, and ruled that Nixon needed to respond to a subpoena for tapes from the Oval Office recording system.

“What happened this morning proved what we teach in schools,” Jaworski told White over a carafe of white wine at lunch. “It proved everything we’ve been trying to get across – that no man is above the law.”

Now, what the modern Republican Party seems to be trying to argue is simple: What if some men – particularly former President Donald Trump – were above the law?

the video here is also nice trumps own words... he will protect classified documents...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/john-bolton-uses-trump-s-own-words-against-him-after-indictment/ar-AA1clZN4?cvid=d231be05da5c4717fce8ede557a397fa&ocid=winp2fptaskbar&ei=20

John Bolton Uses Trump's Own Words Against Him After Indictment

Quote:

Donald Trump was indicted on Thursday in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, which prompted John Bolton to reference the former president's 2016 presidential campaign remarks when he vowed to protect classified information.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) indicted Trump on at least seven counts over his handling of hundreds of classified documents that he took after leaving the White House in January 2021. Last August, the FBI seized the documents from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, months after he was issued a grand jury subpoena in May 2022 that required him to return all documents in his possession that were marked classified. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and said he declassified the documents before taking them. Special counsel Jack Smith has been appointed by the DOJ to oversee the case.

Bolton, who served as the national security adviser during the Trump administration, shared on Friday a clip of the former president making a promise during a campaign rally in 2016 about protecting classified information.

"On political corruption, we are going to restore honor to our government. In my administration, I am going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information. No one will be above the law," Trump said during his campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 18, 2016.

Bolton tweeted along with the clip he shared, "I agree with President Trump."

"The @GOP should adopt a rule that no one under Federal or state criminal indictment is eligible to be nominated for POTUS. It sets a very low bar that those aspiring to reach the highest office should have no trouble clearing..." the former national security adviser wrote in another tweet.

The avid Trump critic also tweeted on Friday that the former president is "clearly unfit to lead" and urged him to "drop out now" from the 2024 presidential race, adding that a second term would lead to "more criminal acts."

Former Representative Adam Kinzinger, an Illinois Republican, also urged Trump to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race after he was indicted.

"Today, Justice is being served. Nobody is above the law. The former President will get a fair trial. The former President will be held accountable," Kinzinger, an outspoken critic of Trump, tweeted on Thursday evening. The former congressman also advised Trump in another tweet that he "should withdraw from the race in shame."

Meanwhile, Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen told Newsweek in an email on Friday that the former president continues to show his "blatant lack of respect" for the rule of law and the Constitution.

"The 37 count indictment should concern every American and, like any other citizen, Donald needs to be held accountable for these actions," he said.

Trump's lawyer Jim Trusty told CNN on Thursday that his client is facing a charge under the Espionage Act and other charges of conspiracy and false statements, obstruction of justice, and destruction or falsification of records.

The former president reacted to the news of his indictment in a series of Truth Social posts on Thursday night, accusing the Biden administration of being "corrupt," maintaining his innocence, and calling it a "dark day" for America. He added that he is scheduled to be arraigned in Miami on Tuesday.

"The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax," Trump wrote. "I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM. I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States ... I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!"

He added: "This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America. We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!"

Exclusive: Former White House official told federal prosecutors Trump knew of proper declassification process and followed it while in office

Quote:

key former White House official was interviewed earlier this year by special counsel prosecutors investigating the handling of classified materials by both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, CNN has learned.

The former career official, who was in charge of advising the Trump and Obama administrations on the declassification process, is the only known witness to be interviewed by both teams of prosecutors investigating Trump and Biden.

During those voluntary interviews, the former official told CNN there was a distinct difference in the line of questioning from prosecutors in the two probes.

While prosecutors in the Trump case aggressively focused on any first-hand interactions with the former president, including conversations about how to properly declassify documents, prosecutors in the Biden case were more concerned with the mechanics of packing and moving boxes into Biden’s home in Delaware as his time as vice president came to an end.

“You wouldn’t expect it to match the intensity, and it didn’t,” the former official said comparing the interview with Biden investigators to discussions with prosecutors in the Trump probe.

Speaking to CNN on condition of anonymity, the former official said he told federal prosecutors that Trump knew the proper process for declassifying documents and followed it correctly at times while in office.

The interview with the former official, which has not been previously reported, is the latest indication that prosecutors are seeking evidence suggesting Trump understood the process for declassifying documents. That could undercut Trump’s claims that he automatically declassified everything he took with him to Mar-a-Lago.

The Justice Department recently informed Trump’s legal team that he is a target in the classified documents investigation, sources familiar with the matter told CNN, a sign that prosecutors may be moving closer to indicting the former president.

‘Get your declassifying tools’
The former official described working with Trump and his top advisers to properly declassify certain documents, including a 2018 congressional memo related to the Russia investigation.

The former official recalled to prosecutors how then-National Security Council lawyer John Eisenberg met with Trump in the Oval Office to discuss declassifying the memo.

When he emerged from the Oval Office, Eisenberg directed the former official to “get your declassifying tools.”

The former official then huddled with White House lawyers in a nearby office redacting the memo by hand for declassification and release based on Eisenberg’s guidance.

During the interview with prosecutors, the former official provided names of former Trump officials who spoke directly to the former president about the declassification process while in office. That includes Eisenberg, former White House counsel Don McGahn and former White House chief of staff John Kelly.

Eisenberg, who was listed as one of a handful of custodians for Trump’s presidential records at the time he left office, declined to comment when asked about his role in declassifying the 2018 memo and whether he has been contacted by the special counsel’s team. McGahn did not respond to requests for comment.

Evidence Trump understood process
CNN first reported last month that the National Archives was preparing to hand over to special counsel Jack Smith 16 additional records that show Trump and his top advisers had knowledge of the correct declassification process while he was president. Last week, CNN also was first to report that federal prosecutors have obtained an audio recording in which Trump acknowledges he held onto a classified Pentagon document about a potential attack on Iran.

It was only after obtaining the audio that prosecutors issued a subpoena for related materials. Sources previously told CNN that Trump’s team returned some materials but not the document pertaining to Iran.

In the days after the FBI seized hundreds of classified and top-secret documents from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort last August, Trump and his allies claimed the former president had a “standing order” to declassify documents he took from the Oval Office to the White House residence.

But 18 former top Trump officials told CNN they never heard any such order during their time working for Trump, including Kelly, who spent 17 months as Trump’s chief of staff between 2017 and 2019.

“Nothing approaching an order that foolish was ever given,” Kelly told CNN. “And I can’t imagine anyone that worked at the White House after me that would have simply shrugged their shoulders and allowed that order to go forward without dying in the ditch trying to stop it.”

Earlier this year, Trump’s legal team told Congress that classified material was inadvertently packed up at the end of the administration. Most recently, Trump told CNN at a town hall that materials were “automatically declassified” when he took them.

However, there’s no indication Trump followed the proper declassification process, and his attorneys have avoided saying so far in court whether Trump declassified records he kept.

Testimony from former Trump officials
Prosecutors have secured grand jury testimony from a number of former senior Trump officials who detailed conversations they had with the former President about the declassification process.

Mark Meadows, Trump’s former chief of staff, is among those who have testified to a federal grand jury as part of special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation and was asked about the former president’s handling of classified documents, a source familiar with the matter told CNN on Wednesday.

Meadows was directly involved in helping Trump declassify additional documents related to the FBI’s Russia investigation during his final days in office and is viewed as a critical witness in Smith’s probe.

Appearing before the grand jury earlier this year, Trump’s former national security adviser Robert O’Brien discussed conversations he had with the former president related to the presidential authority for declassifying documents while in office, according to a source familiar with the matter.

O’Brien testified that during those conversations with Trump, he made clear that the president has the authority to declassify but it only applies while they are in office – and even then, there is a process they have to go through, the source said.

Trump’s former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell also appeared before the grand jury in April and was similarly asked about conversations he had with the former president related to the process for declassifying material, CNN reported at the time.

State of Biden probe
The Biden probe, meanwhile, remains ongoing but the special counsel overseeing that investigation, Robert Hur, does not appear to be using a grand jury at this point, sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Hur is known to have reached out to only one witness, former Biden aide Kathy Chung. By comparison, Smith’s team has interviewed dozens of witnesses in his probe of Trump and several have testified before the grand juries empaneled as part of that investigation.

The investigation into former Vice President Mike Pence’s handling of classified documents was closed last Friday without a special counsel ever being appointed.

CNN’s Pamela Brown and Jamie Gangel contributed to this report.

what does a former GOP attorney general say? here right wingers on this forum, well evidently you are cowards... and a party of cowards... I guess he just woke up... hahaha woke.

'Cowardice': Former GOP attorney general slams House Republicans for defending Trump

Quote:
Former George W. Bush administration Attorney General Alberto Gonzales expressed his horror at the criminal acts alleged in the classified documents indictment against former President Donald Trump on CNN Friday — and also tore into House Republicans for continuing to defend the former president and go after the federal investigators who have brought the charges.

"What was the most shocking part of the indictment, in your view?" asked anchor Jake Tapper.

"Well, there was just so much, Jake, quite frankly," said Gonzales. "The number of classified documents, where they were stored, completely unprotected, the efforts to hide them, to move them, to obstruct turning them over. You know, the story is quite compelling, quite honestly. It's going to be a very interesting trial, obviously. Like every other defendant ... former President Trump is presumed innocent until proven guilty, but a pretty compelling story here in this indictment."

"A lot of Republicans running to Donald Trump's defense today. A lot of them. The Speaker of the House, before the indictment was even unsealed. There's a statement I'm looking at from Senator Mike Lee of Utah, saying the Biden administration's actions can only be compared to the oppressive tactics routinely seen in Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nicaragua. He calls this 'an act of absolute disrespect which echoes despotism.' What's your reaction when you see the Republican officials making comments like that?"

"Well, they can move to those countries, quite frankly, and live under the rules in those countries, as far as I'm concerned," said Gonzales. "It's disappointing. I don't understand it. I've got great confidence in the men and women who — it's not perfect, we weren't perfect, and I'm sure this department is not perfect — they work very, very hard to get it right. And you know, this indictment is quite — it's quite overwhelming. And so I'm disappointed, quite frankly. At a minimum, I would have liked to have seen the leadership in the House and other Republicans in the House — you know, if they're not going to condemn the president, at least not say anything and let the trial play out and see what happens. It is disappointing, quite honestly. An attack on the Department of Justice is an attack on the rule of law. That's not good for this country. We've got enough serious problems as it is, and it's disappointing that our leadership, so-called leadership, at least on the Republican side, is acting the way that they are."

"I must tell you, Jake, I don't understand the hold that this person has on the Republican Party and the cowardice. And I'm going to call it for how I see it, the cowardice of people in the Congress who are afraid of Donald Trump and they're more concerned about the next election than the next generation in this country. It's disappointing. It really is. But we'll see what happens. Again, I'm proud of the work of the Department as reflected in this indictment. And we'll see whether or not the Department will be successful in bringing this person to justice."

well Barr finally tells some truth. watch the video and even he states he does not believe the government has everything. Doesn't this mean there should be a one day all properties raid for the purpose of national security? do it on tuesday when he is turning himself in.

Trump’s Former AG Bill Barr Lowers the Boom in Stunning Analysis on Fox News Sunday: ‘If Even Half of it is True, He is Toast’

Quote:
Former President Donald Trump’s Attorney General, Bill Barr, believes his old boss is in very serious trouble — if “even half” of what is laid out in the 37-count federal indictment against him is true.

In a stunning analysis of the former president’s legal peril on Fox News Sunday, Barr cited and concurred with the assessment of Fox News legal contributor Andy McCarthy.

“If even half of it is true, he is toast,” Barr said. “I mean, it’s a very detailed indictment, and it’s very, very damning.”

Barr went on to take a flamethrower to Trump’s claims that he is being politically persecuted.

“This idea of presenting Trump as a victim here or a victim of a witch hunt is ridiculous,” Barr said. “Yes, he’s been a victim in the past. His adversaries have obsessively pursued him with phony claims. And I’ve been at his side defending against them when he is a victim. But this is much different. He’s not a victim here. He was totally wrong that he had the right to have those documents. Those documents are among the most sensitive secrets that the country has. They have to be in the custody of the archivist. He had no right to maintain them and retain them.”

The former attorney general acknowledged there has been bad blood between him and his old boss. But he cited other instances where he has supported Trump to make clear he views this case as a completely different animal.

“He’s been angry with me for a while,” Barr said. “But you know, I defended the president on on Russia-gate. I stood up and called out (Manhattan District Attorney) Alvin Bragg’s politicized hit job. And I have spoken out for 30 years about the abuse of the criminal justice process to influence politics. But this is simply not true. This particular episode of trying to retrieve those documents, the government acted responsibly. and it was Donald Trump who acted irresponsibly.”

Former Chief of Staff John Kelly Claims Trump Discussed Using IRS to Target FBI Agents Involved in the Russia Investigation

Quote:

Former Chief of Staff John Kelly claimed that former President Donald Trump discussed the possibility of using the IRS to conduct investigations into two FBI agents involved in the probe of his 2016 campaign's alleged ties to Russia, RadarOnline.com has learned.

According to the New York Times, Trump suggested using the tax collecting agency to target Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

Kelly said that his recollection of the ex-Prez's comments to him was "based on notes that he had taken at the time in 2018."

"President Trump questioned whether investigations by the Internal Revenue Service or other federal agencies should be undertaken into Mr. Strzok and/or Ms. Page," Mr. Kelly said in the statement. "I do not know of President Trump ordering such an investigation. It appeared, however, that he wanted to see Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page investigated."

This wouldn't be the first instance of Trump considering using the IRS to target individuals he perceived as enemies. Last year, it was reported by the Times that, while he was President, Trump's IRS audited former FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe after he fired them.

Trump's appointment of a special counsel, Bill Barr, to investigate the origins of the Russia probe resulted in one guilty plea and two acquittals, but neither Strzok nor Page were charged.

Strzok, who had an extramarital affair with Page, was removed from the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller in response to the right-wing backlash over released text messages that expressed their hope that Trump would not be elected president.

Strzok was eventually fired from the FBI, and he filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination, claiming he was politically targeted.

Earlier this week, a federal judge ruled that Strzok could not depose Trump as part of that lawsuit until FBI Director Christopher Wray had been questioned.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Wray received "death threats" from MAGA supporters following the FBI's raid on the former President's Florida home.

While many of the threats are reportedly being made by pro-Trump civilians, some currently sitting Republican lawmakers called for the "complete dismantling and elimination of the Democrat brown shirts."

Criminals From Trump's Inner Circle Convicted By GOP Leadership, Testimony Reveals

Quote:
In a detailed examination of FBI Director Christopher Wray, California Congressman Ted Lieu — a Georgetown-trained lawyer — enumerated a series of criminal convictions against numerous people who have worked in former President Donald Trump‘s inner circle.

By naming convicted criminals like Roger Stone, Michael Cohen, and Paul Manafort, Lieu seeks to disembowel an argument some Republican lawmakers make that the recent spate of Trump-directed criminal charges are politically motivated and are the result of the so-called “weaponization” of government agencies by Democrats against their Republican rivals, especially the former President.

Lieu argues against the notion that there exists separate standards of justice for Republicans and Democrats — the so-called “two-tiered justice system” — by naming not only Trump’s convicted relations, but those responsible for their convictions. In every case, the cited convictions were overseen not by Democrats but by powerful Republicans appointed by Trump himself.

Part of the Republican denigration of the FBI and the Department of Justice has included asserting a party-line bias in the investigations and charges the agencies pursue.

Lieu’s exchange with Wray, part of the official Congressional record, demonstrates that the justice meted out to Stone, Cohen, et al, was delivered at the hands of Trump’s own appointees like former Attorneys General Bill Barr and Jeff Sessions.

“Trump advisor Roger Stone was convicted in a federal court…Trump donor Elliott Broidy was convicted in a federal court,” says Lieu.

“The Attorney General at the time for those two convictions was Bill Barr — who nominated Bill Barr?” Lieu asks.

Wray answers that it was President Trump.

Lieu continues with twice-convicted former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, whose second conviction came under Acting AG Matthew Whitaker, also appointed by Trump. Lieu then names Trump’s former campaign staffers Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, both convicted in federal court.

Lieu names George Papadopoulos also, reminding Congress that all three of the latter were convicted under Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who was nominated by Trump. Wray, incidentally, was also nominated by Trump. If the convicted men were victimized by the system, they were victimized by the GOP leaders at the time.

“What these facts show,” Lieu asserts, “is that we don’t have a two-tiered system of justice.”
