If you've seen him do it, he's still doing it.

If you haven't, the following really happens: A guy on a big board (Starboard Start usually) pulls his rig off of the mast foot, inverts it, then hurls it upwind mast high. It boomerangs and he catches it. And he's consistent at this. The guy has a hundred impressive tricks but this one is ridiculous. BTW I did not video a bunch of attempts and save the good one. I saw three attempts...he caught all three. Got my phone out for the last one.

If you've never been, it's wonderful.

1. Onshore (on-side-on) thigh-deep 80 degree water makes it a flatwater playground. If you have a friend or significant other who doesn't windsurf, it's the easiest place in the world to learn. The easiest.

2. Great gear rental and casual waterside bars and food right on shore.

3. World champion sailors on the water as well, showing their stuff, so you have the entire range from a grandmother trying sailing for the first time, to freestyle gods throwing moves nobody has ever seen before.

4. Good restaurants.

5. Not overcrowded, Dutch run, no hassles.

6. ABK runs clinics there often, if you want to amp up your skills. Or take a lesson or two from one of the rental centers.

7. There's a windsurfing travel agent (Ann Phelan) who you can find on these boards who will hook you up at no cost to you.
