Sordid, not nutty, says judge Loretta Biggs in blocking the latest version of North Carolina’s voter identification law. She cited NC’s “sordid history of racial discrimination and voter suppression.”

Nothing more need be said.

She's still living in the past, hasn't yet been able to move on into modern times with modern technologies.

Always willing to divert, rarely able to contribute. From the AP article:
“Legislators received a breakdown of voter behavior by race before passing the 2016 law and used that data to target African American voters...

The 2016 law was struck down—and the same legislators developed a substitute which has just been struck down. They used modern technologies—to target African Americans.

NW—your response is uninformed—if not sordid.

Being stuck in the racism of the past, by choice, is what "sordid" is.

Of the past? Most overt racist President in nearly 100 years. Stuck with your head in the sand.

From the decision on the original law that was struck down:

Quote:
May 15, 2017

585
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday refused to revive a restrictive North Carolina voting law that a federal appeals court had struck down as an unconstitutional effort to “target African-Americans with almost surgical precision.

The court’s decision not to hear an appeal in the case effectively overturned one of the most far-reaching attempts by Republicans to counter what they contended, without evidence, was widespread voter fraud in North Carolina. The law rejected the forms of identification used disproportionately by blacks, including IDs issued to government employees, students and people receiving public assistance.

Yes indeed, use the best of modern technology to return to the days of Reconstruction.

Imagine that, there is more. https://www.npr.org/2020/01/05/785672201/deceased-gop-strategists-daughter-makes-files-public-that-republicans-wanted-sea?utm_term=nprnews&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&fbclid=IwAR2WJkG1qDqTtYodKINPOyl1xM3Jzkoq5ZQD1Ki995sSvFXiJFSSgxpGpjk&fbclid=IwAR0pcSgXGQL243GMNzVKsJWIN48VbwwWD8uzE7VH-ghIAynPMApx2X6b7Oc&fbclid=IwAR0JQvnNhuCH6fB9nxDEf8bHqFFku2Ex0HgstMK6vLy9HRXYmXHWZwapFec

And to think, a conservative from North Carolina started a thread callingt California nutty. Better nutty than smutty?
