Just converted a 2015 Ford Transit 150 XLT Medium roof passenger van to a perfect urban windsurfing van, for me anyway. This van fits all the criteria I asked. Living in a major city, this van is small enough to fit my driveway, its overall length of 217.5" is only 14.5" longer than my mini van, not bad. It has glass windows all around for excellent visibility and has three seats for me and my two windsurfing sons. The van is also tall enough to change comfortably inside.
The conversion has enough space for:
Eight boards, including two windsucks ( 10' & 10'10" long) and could possibly squeeze in a couple more.
Nine sails and could easily squeeze in a couple more.
Eight masts, could put in a few more.
Three booms and could be more.
Two paddles, bunch of wetsuits, fins, etc.
Took it out for a sunny Spring session by the bay today and it worked

Do you have an image of, or how did you attach the PVC spanning the doors? |
Sorry, can't find a photo and too long ago to remember the details. I was at an RV park in Texas, working with stuff I had, so Im sure it couldn't have been all that elegant anyway.

You guys freak'n kill me. The pile of gear in my van rarely gets organized,
and towards the end of a week of wind, it could be hard to find the board I
need in there. I am not posting any pictures for you all to laugh at. ;*)

I entered my van in a Gorgemobile contest back at the peak of Gorge windsurfing. I overheard a WSer comment something like "This guy must be an anal accountant". I replied that organization serves two deliberate purposes: it allows us to find stuff, and it helps insure that nothing gets left behind (because any empty nook or cranny raises a red flag). If I need a particular fin screw, I know right where it is. OTOH, I've found BOARDS and RIGGED SAILS left behind; how the heck does THAT happen? (Answer: heaps rather than nooks and crannies.)
Now if only I ran my house and shop that well ...
