I purchased a Quatro Tetra 109 and Goya Nexus 5.4 with matching 99% mast from Big Winds (thanks Eddy) this spring. Living in the midwest we don't get too many windy days but it is special to be able to take advantage when we do get them. Yesterday was 15 gusting to 40 knots. I started early before the conditions were too much even for this combo. My previous smallest combo is Gecko 120 and Goya Nexus 6.5.

The Tetra is a tri fin - using the stock setup seemed fine. My goals for this board was to be much better in heavy chop than the Gecko and to carve a tighter arc with less bounce - both achieved. The Tetra is light, great graphics, nice pads / footstraps, etc. It is a little longer than similar volume FSW boards which is the main reason I chose it over the 3S - my target board prior to Tabou changing the shape. I thought the longer shape would slog better and maybe handle chop better, not sure this is the case but that was my reasoning.

The Nexus 5.4 is light and direct and seemingly pretty stable. I honestly purchased it because the matching mast is crazy light. It is a great looking sail which has performed great the 2 chances I've had to sail it. Like my Goya 6.5 it is involving to sail which I want in the smaller sizes. Not sure if it's good or bad but you have to be on top of the sail trim and it rewards you if you are with added performance/control - hard to describe but it feels really alive while sailing but if I'm not careful it can push me around a little as well.

Overall a really nice combo for my windy days. I don't yet have the skills to harness the performance but I'm working on it and I learned a lot yesterday that I couldn't have sitting at home. Now I need a used 4.5 for the 1-2 days a year I'd get to use it.
