Guess Which Of Trump’s Fibs Won Him PolitiFact’s ‘Lie Of The Year’ Award
Quote:
A Donald Trump lie has won the title for a third year. He’s the only person to ever win it more than once.

Quote:
A lie from President Donald Trump has been crowned “Lie of the Year” for a historic third time.

PolitiFact, a nonprofit U.S. political fact-checking site, announced Monday that the award for 2019 goes to Trump’s claim that the anonymous whistleblower reported his July 25 phone call with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky “almost completely wrong.” Trump’s conduct and requests on that call are now at the heart of House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry.

Since the Sept. 26 release of the whistleblower complaint, the president has claimed more than 80 times that the complaint is “fake, fraudulent, incorrect, ‘total fiction,’ ‘made up,’ and ‘sooo wrong,’” PolitiFact reported.

Despite the president’s repeated insistence that the report was filled with lies, the anonymous whistleblower actually got the call “almost completely” right, the fact-checking site’s managing editor, Katie Sanders, wrote.

“We know this from the very record of the call the president released. We know this from testimony under oath from career diplomats and other officials. And the president and his allies have told reporters that Trump did what the whistleblower suggested — urged the Ukrainian president to investigate political rival Joe Biden.”

Trump’s Mar-A-Lago Winter Vacation Pushes Taxpayer Golf Tab Above $118 million
Trump criticized predecessor Barack Obama for spending too much time playing golf — but is on track to pass Obama’s eight-year total in just four years.

Quote:
President Donald Trump has pushed his taxpayer-funded golf tab past $118 million on his 26th visit to Mar-a-Lago, his for-profit resort in Palm Beach, Florida, with a Saturday visit to his course in neighboring West Palm Beach.

The new total is the equivalent of 296 years of the $400,000 presidential salary that his supporters often boast that he is not taking.

And of that $118.3 million, at least several million has gone into Trump’s own cash registers, as Secret Service agents, White House staff and other administration officials stay and eat at his hotels and golf courses.

The exact amount going into Trump’s pocket cannot be determined because the White House refuses to reveal how many Trump aides have been staying at his properties when he visits them and the administration will not turn over receipts for the charges incurred.

Trump’s White House on Saturday also ignored queries regarding Trump’s golf partners, continuing its practice of keeping that information secret unless he plays with a celebrity or with Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.). Previous administrations routinely disclosed the president’s golf partners.

At this exact point in former President Barack Obama’s first term, he had spent 88 days on a golf course. Saturday was Trump’s 227th day as president on a course that he owns.

Trump attacks Washington Post article, claiming CDC chief Redfield was misquoted. Redfield later said he wasn't.

Quote:
At Wednesday’s coronavirus task force briefing, President Trump blasted a Washington Post article, claiming that it misquoted CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield about the severity of the coronavirus in the fall. Redfield clarified his remarks but said he was not misquoted.

Obama administration asked for funding to tackle future pandemics but Republicans refused
Tea Party blocked hundreds of millions in funding, investigation finds

Quote:
Barack Obama’s efforts to replenish America’s stockpile of protective equipment for healthcare workers were repeatedly blocked by Republican lawmakers, an investigation has found.

The investigation by ProPublica found requests for funding to purchase protective equipment and train medical staff to prepare for future outbreaks were denied by a Republican-controlled House of Representatives that was filled with Tea Party-affiliated politicians.

Citing budget documents, as was as administration and congressional officials involved in negotiations, the report discovered that “had Congress kept funding at the 2010 level through the end of the Obama administration, the stockpile would have benefited from $321m (£259m) more than it ended up getting.”

Healthcare workers treating coronavirus patients across the country have complained about a lack of proper protective equipment. Many are having to reuse masks, which puts them at greater risk of contracting the virus.

As the coronavirus has continued to spread across the US in recent weeks, Donald Trump has repeatedly tried to shift blame for shortfalls in the government’s response to the outbreak onto his predecessor.
......

In fact, Mr Obama’s efforts to build up the stockpile and prepare for the next outbreak were stymied by a Republican-controlled House of Representatives that was heavily influenced by Tea Party-affiliated politicians elected on promises of cutting back government spending.

Speaking in 2014, Mr Obama argued it was necessary to set up a “public health infrastructure that we need to deal with potential outbreaks in the future.”

He said: “There may and likely will come a time in which we have both an airborne disease that is deadly, and in order for us to deal with that effectively we have to put in place an infrastructure, not just here at home but globally, that allows us to see it quickly, isolate it quickly, respond to it quickly, so that if and when a new strain of flu like the Spanish flu crops up five years from now or a decade from now, we’ve made the investment and we’re further along to be able to catch it.”

Quote:

The U.S. death toll from the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 rose above 90,000 on Tuesday, as President Donald Trump again threatened to cut off funding for the World Health Organization, accusing its leaders of failing to react quickly or aggressively enough at the start of the outbreak.

In a letter to WHO Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Trump leveled some of the same charges at the WHO as have been made against his own administration, which has been criticized for its slow response to the crisis and for failing to manage testing and secure needed medical supplies.

Trump said the agency “consistently ignored credible reports of the virus spreading in Wuhan in early December 2019 or even earlier, including reports from the Lancet medical journal.” However, the Lancet quickly responded to say it did not publish a report in December about a virus in Wuhan, or anywhere else in China, contrary to the Trump letter’s claim. The journal’s first reports on the crisis came in late January, just days before the WHO emergency determination.

Quote:

Trump reacted angrily to Pelosi’s swipe at this weight, calling her a “sick woman” with "a lot of mental problems” — the latest chapter in their years-long feud, which has, at times, devolved into trading personal barbs.

Pelosi on Wednesday defended her choice of words, noting that Trump himself has made similar comments — which he “passes off as humor” — about women’s weight throughout his career.

“I said, he’s our president, we don't want our president taking something that could be dangerous, as the scientists have said,” Pelosi said. “If he takes offense at that, well, I could take offense at a lot of things, but they don’t mean that much to me.”

Maybe his biggest "I'm taking hydroxycloroquine right now".
Who's going to fact check that?
Blood test please.

Or maybe that's the reason for his more than usual irrational behavior.

Common side effects may include:
headache, dizziness, ringing in your ears;
nausea, vomiting, stomach pain;
loss of appetite, weight loss;
mood changes, feeling nervous or irritable;
skin rash or itching; or.
hair loss.

Hair loss? I'm sure his vanity would not allow that to influence his decision, especially since he's already of meds for that.
