To Andy Davis.
Don't mean to be picky but the photo is not Shimada Park. It is Jay and Barbara Vincent Park.
Shimada is just a few 100 yards before that location.
Both are good launches. Vincent will get you up to the breakwater a reach sooner.
Both have great manicured grass rigging areas. |

Managed to reach up there from Pt. Isabel launch again today - 6.3/106L (3PM). Great while there, but almost too much work to access. Again, 2 other WSers and 2 kiters. Big sign on the jetty at one of the break points that I expect says it's not OK to portage across anymore due to bird sanctuary - but couldn't read it without glasses. Also noted that the old plastic "buoys" marking the bird sanctuary border in the water seem to have vanished?

Lots of good days around Point Isabel. Steady winds, variety of conditions, and a great crew of east bay regulars.
