I was in Baja 3 years ago and there was already a large group of proficient foil kiters. They even had foil kiters in the Lord of the Wind comp they have every January.
In comparison, foil windsurfing is in it's infant stages. Yes, the exceptional athletes like Dale and Bruce make it look easy because they have the time and resources to get it dialed. But remember, these are the guys doing the R&D that will make it accessible to the every day joe. If you start learning it now you'll be ahead of the game and will only get better (and easier) as the sport matures. Just my 2 cents worth. Peace

Well, it is very important to be at the head of the curve, isn't it?

I think learning to foil is like learning to waterstart, jibe or anything new. Time on the water dictates how fast most people learn.

Not going to be much of a curve if manufactures don't make equipment available. Slingshot, gorge presence, set a handful of boards and even less foils to Windance. "We underestimated demand", well duh!

Big Winds has the GoFoil, designed by windsurfing legend Alex Aguera, in stock. Like everything else, once the concept catches on everybody with a manufacturing facility will be jumping onboard. Then you have to extract the goods from the crap. At least right now the people passionate about it, Tony Logosz and Alex Aguera (and a few others) are paving with way trying to make a quality product, not just make a buck. Just my 2 cents worth.
