https://www.tricktionary.com/es/windsurfing/tricktionary-3 covers all windsurfing topics.
There are many video's about this to at
http://www.sideoff.com/videos/inst_wsurf/inst_wsurf.html

Summer generally has flat conditions the waves come early and sometimes
late in the season March to June . Some of the hardy souls sail on the Winter
Storms. Regular season usually ends by October. We had a really late start
this year due to the first real Winter we have had in a long time.

Today there was really nothing if you look at the charts. Even in the bay area. Natural Bridges had the largest amount of wind in the Santa Cruz
area but you would have needed big stuff and a weed fin to take advantage
of it.
The pre heat wave conditions are taking there toll on the wind .
You were lucky you got some things get dicey at this time of year.

Deep Fog along the coast kills the wind even in the SF Bay and shifts the windy points inland to places like the Delta or San Luis Reservoir.
For Free Style here places like Candlestick , Palo Alto and Crissy Field
are the common spots for the bay area freestylers.
Since you are on this forum you have access to the local forecast .

Windsurfed the last three days at Natural Bridges. Of course, I did have the big gear to handle it. I actually am enjoying these light wind days as much, if not more, than the heavy wind days. I know SUPSailing is not for everyone, but I think it is becoming my cup of tea.
