|
|
Picked up this old HiFly race on the side of the road on the way to work today and thought it would be fun if I could find the rest of the pieces... This board any good?
Need a daggerboard, and Ujoint/base to fit the funny permanent style base on the board..any thoughts or ideas? Thanks!

Here is a link to a photo of the board (I think)

A 1985 poly race board (40 lbs) with no dagger board is pretty much worthless. Finding something that will fit will be THE challenge. Also, 63 cm wide = tippy!
The mast base is another big job too, and not knowing what the adjustable base/connection looks like, it will be hard to suggest options. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback...Thats kinda what I was afraid of...I went through the gear bag last night and the old bic foot is too big, the obrien foot is still too big...I"m thinking it needs to be...Also cant figure out the track and locking mechanism. Seems that it is a spring steel v pin internally that goes around the foot, with a secondary lock(red part in front)that slides back....but the little white thumb lever doesnt seem to do anything....also no idea how to get this thing to slide in the track...:-/ I think it may need the stainless pin like pitured below that chinook makes what do you think?
Its not the Race "Pro", but according to the hitthewaves files, the profiles and shape are the same, just 5lbs heavier....here some pics.

I have an '89 Fanatic Ultra Cat that has a Hi Fly dagger board that fits and works fine, so I would guess yes.

Thanks--I found one, so I might chance it....
Ultra Cat is fun...that was my second board a while ago--first was original bic windsurfer I bought at a yardsale for $20 in 8th grade. I just started getting back into it all this year and was hoping this would be a fun cruiser to compliment my current boards.
+ I cant turn down anything water related for free....
