If you are going to foil you'll inevitably encounter some of the hazards; overfoiling and taking the plunge, getting cut by the wing while waterstarting, and running aground in shallow water. Here's one more that caught me by surprise here in the SF Bay waters during one of my sessions at Coyote Point Shocked

Yeah, and that's single screw.
Ours on day 14, still no dent on bottom of board. Guess the plate spreads the load pretty well. The club Gecko has about 40 days and showing no problems.
We, of course, don't compare with Bert's experience.

Perhaps your local board shop can order some shark spray in for you. Looks like you could use it.
