the ice looks fast, but there sure is alot of open water. , Not sure I would have wanted to be on it. Those should freeze up quick with all that surrounding ice.
I sailed Andover Lake that day, where I live, 6 inches thick, some bumps, but no open water, so you could fly all the way up the middle with the lifts.
About an inch of snow fell today, I may give it a go Sunday AM. Just got a freeskate after selling mine about 15 years ago. It was a whole lot of fun to get back out. I found out rigging a goya sail in 12 degrees is quite a challenge.

Fiberspar cast front truck, and blade sharpening jig.
