I have a WindSup too, but not an Exocet. It is an 11.6 Bic WindSup.
I have made a prototype foil wing ( with rear stabilizer). Both the mast and the wings are fiberglas reinforced wood .
Since I cannot use the US fin box, I have no choice but positioning the mast more forwards ,between the end of the fin box and the centerboard . The distance is about 15” and I have made a wood railing of the same length allowing for different mast( and foil) positions : as far back as the end of the fin box , as far forwards as the centerboard slot or somewhere in between.
Of course I’ll try at the beach in a few weeks, but I’d like to know if somebody has any idea how this will affect the performance and what is the optimal position, on such a long board as the Bic WindSup.
Usually for windfoiling the foils are mounted on the fin box, at the very end of the board, but I was thinking that perhaps on such a long board it may be even better to have the wings more forwards, for a better balance. How much forwards or backwards?
Any idea?
Thanks
