Great. When Trump sees this on FoxNews, he will want it, too. After all, "what you're seeing and what you're reading is not what's happening".

Just for Malibu fascist--in today's news, Israel locks up a poet. For publishing a poem on social media. For publishing, among others, a poem titled “Resist, my people, resist them." The indictment against her includes a translation of the poem, which includes the lines: "I will not succumb to the 'peaceful solution' / Never lower my flags / Until I evict them from my land."

Trump's rallies incite more violence--but only against people of color and truth tellers. Malibu fascist's commitment to free speech appears to be only situational. Unless he somehow thinks that Google is a corporation that I support. When you don't have facts, make some up.

Back to Manafort, and what he means. The criminal conspiracy here has always been to get rid of sanctions and the Magnisky Act. Everyone who wanted to help Putin’s friends loot the USSR—and get a piece of the action—complained about the Magnisky Act and sanctions. Tillerson lost a huge oil deal for Exxon over sanctions. That's what the meeting in Trump tower with Manafort and Trump Jr. was about—the Magnisky Act. Trump bought in, and authorized the meeting, because he wanted dirt on Hillary—and a hotel deal, because he expected to lose.

Manafort and Trump were both complicit in laundering money for the Russian oligarch’s—nobody gets paid $15 million a year for advice or consulting. I have little doubt that Mueller’s team knows how much money was laundered for Manafort to get $60 million and Trump to get his piece. Both Trump and Manafort are light-weights in that world. The Russian mob makes ours look like cub scouts.

Now we find out that 1). Trump tried to obstruct justice by shutting down the investigation; 2). Trump knew that Flynn was under criminal investigation—although he denied it at the time—when he asked Comey to give Flynn a pass; and 3). Sessions met with the Russian ambassador twice—and then lied about it under oath in his confirmation hearing. Conspiracy, perjury and obstruction of justice. Lock them all up

New York prosecutors eye illicit foreign lobbying

Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) — The special counsel in the Russia probe has referred investigations into possible unlawful foreign lobbying to federal prosecutors in New York, two people familiar with the inquiry said Wednesday.

Three veteran Washington insiders — Tony Podesta, Gregory Craig and Vin Weber — are under scrutiny for allegedly failing to register as foreign agents with the Justice Department, the people said. None of the three has been charged with any crimes.

Special counsel Robert Mueller turned over the investigations to the U.S. Attorney's office in Manhattan earlier this year, according to the people, who weren't authorized to discuss the case and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The same prosecutors' office is conducting a separate investigation of Michael Cohen, the former personal lawyer for President Donald Trump, at the behest of the special counsel. Like the Cohen case, the lobbying inquiries appeared to fall outside the scope of Mueller's probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Hmm, no diversions or ad hominem attacks here. Maybe because the evidence against Manafort is overwhelming, and Trump yesterday awarded an aluminum manufacturer with an exemption from tariffs. Does anyone else wonder what Manafort did for Russian mobsters to earn $60 million in 4 years, and what he owes them? And how much money they stood to make if they were willing to pay him $60 million? And then there is the Trump empire, abetting the Russians in money laundering through purchases of Trump real estate.

Fortunately, Manafort was as arrogant and stupid as Trump, and they both left a trail.

Quote:
In early testimony Friday, the prosecution sought to highlight how Paul Manafort repeatedly denied having foreign banks accounts – even though previous witnesses have testified he used foreign accounts to fund his lavish lifestyle.

With tax documents preparer Philip Ayliff still on the stand, Assistant U.S. Attorney Uzo Asonye flashed for jurors each of Manafort’s tax returns from 2010 to 2014. As jurors peered down at the monitors in front of them in the jury box, Asonye asked Ayliff what Manafort had reported about whether he had any foreign bank accounts.

“None,” Ayliff said, repeating the exercise five times
.

Asonye then turned to emails between Manafort, business partner Rick Gates and their tax documents preparer, attempting to show it wasn’t just on the returns themselves that Manafort had claimed not to have foreign accounts. One 2011 email showed Ayliff writing to Manafort, asking if he had any interest in a foreign bank account. Manafort responded he did not.

The testimony is important because Manafort is charged with, among other things, failing to report foreign bank accounts as he was legally required to do. Prosecutors must show Manafort’s failing to do so was no mere mistake.

I guess Manafort's explanation is going to be that he just forgot about the $60 million? A crook, the perfect foil for illegal operations by the Trump campaign.

From Business Insider in February, showing his debt to Russian oligarch's (mobsters?)

Quote:
Paul Manafort was in deeper financial trouble than previously known when he joined then-Republican candidate Donald Trump's campaign as an unpaid volunteer in early 2016.

Manafort approached the Trump campaign in February 2016, touting himself to the billionaire and political neophyte as an outsider with few connections to the Washington establishment. He also offered to work without pay.

In March, the campaign tapped Manafort to be the point person in charge of securing delegate support for Trump at the upcoming Republican National Convention. Two months later, he was promoted to campaign chairman and chief strategist. His influence grew when Corey Lewandowski was booted out as campaign manager that June following a string of public controversies.

But as his role expanded, Manafort was buckling under increased financial strain. A new report from Bloomberg on Wednesday highlighted the extent of Manafort's previous lobbying work and financial troubles when he was helming the Trump campaign, some of which was previously unreported.

In particular, the report said, Manafort made 17 trips to Ukraine in 2014 and 2015 to do lobbying work for the Opposition Bloc, the successor to Ukraine's pro-Russia Party of Regions.

Manafort's ties to the Party of Regions stretch back over a decade. When Trump first hired him in March 2016, Manafort was known for having worked as a top consultant to Viktor Yanukovych, the former Ukrainian president and strongman who was a prominent figure in the party. Manafort is widely credited with helping Yanukovych win the election in 2010.

Yanukovych was ousted from the presidency in 2014 amid widespread protests against his Russia-friendly positions, such as his decision to back out of a deal that would have promoted closer ties between Ukraine and the West, and distanced it from Russia. Yanukovych fled to Russia at the peak of the protests, and he is now living under the protection of the Kremlin.

Following Yanukovych's ouster, Manafort's cash flow began to stutter.

In one project, the Opposition Bloc paid Manafort $1 million in October 2014 for his consulting work prior to Ukraine's parliamentary election.

His last lobbying assignment for the group ended in October 2015 — less than six months before he joined the Trump campaign, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

He received only part of the money he was supposed to, and the group still owed him over $2 million, according to an allegedly fraudulent document he submitted as part of an effort to secure a bank loan in 2016.

When he joined the Trump campaign, Manafort's financial records showed he was $17 million in debt to pro-Russian interests, The New York Times reported . Shell companies connected to Manafort during his time working for the Party of Regions bought the debt.

At the time, he also owed the wealthy Russian-Ukrainian oligarch Oleg Deripaska close to $20 million, per legal complaints Deripaska's representatives filed in the Cayman Islands in 2014 and in New York in January .

The alleged dispute drew additional scrutiny last year, after The Atlantic published several emails appearing to show Manafort using his elevated role in the Trump campaign to resolve the situation with Deripaska.

Manafort reportedly wrote an email to his associate, Russian-Ukrainian operative Konstantin Kilimnik, offering to give Deripaska "private briefings" about the campaign.

"I assume you have shown our friends my media coverage, right?" Manafort reportedly wrote to Kilimnik, who has suspected ties to Russian intelligence.

"Absolutely," replied Kilimnik. "Every article."

"How do we use to get whole," Manafort responded. "Has OVD operation seen?"

Former intelligence officials told Business Insider that Manafort was likely offering the briefings in an effort to repay his debt to Deripaska, who is closely allied with the Kremlin. Investigators have concluded that "OVD" was a reference to his full name: Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska.

Kilimnik reportedly told Manafort in a later email that he had been "sending everything to Victor, who has been forwarding the coverage directly to OVD." Victor was a senior aide to Deripaska, according to The Atlantic.

Here's a bit on Deripaska:

Quote:
Since becoming one of Russia’s richest men in the early 2000s, billionaire metals magnate Oleg Deripaska has put his wealth at the Kremlin’s service and even once himself as a public whipping boy for the country’s president, Vladimir Putin.

Russia Investigation Add Interest
When the Kremlin wanted Olympic facilities for the 2014 games in Sochi, Deripaska built them at what he said was almost a loss. And when international media mocked Russia over the huge number of stray dogs in the town, he opened a shelter for them.

Today, the Associated Press reported that Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, worked for Deripaska, for several years starting more than a decade ago, to advance the interests of Putin. The AP said it had obtained documents showing Manafort pitched a confidential strategy plan, outlining how he could influence politics, the media and business in the Kremlin’s favor in the United States and across Russia’s former satellite states, to Deripaska in 2005.

Manafort confirmed to AP that he worked for Deripaska on "business and personal matters" for a decade, but denied it involved "representing Russian political interests." If he did make such a pitch, though, Manafort would have had good reason to think it would reach Putin.

Deripaska is one of the richest and best-known of Russia’s oligarchs, a business titan who emerged from the economic chaos of the 1990s. Estimated by Forbes to be worth $5.1 billion, Deripaska is considered one of the "court oligarchs" of Putin’s Kremlin, expected to put up cash and execute state projects when called upon.

Deripaska was among a group of Kremlin-linked businessmen who complained at the Sochi Olympics that they were effectively footing the bill for the facilities they were building.

Raised in modest circumstances in a Cossack village and then educated as a nuclear physicist, Deripaska’s is a classic story of the Putin-era oligarchs who gained control of Russia’s key assets for bargain prices and then held onto them through the often violent, mafia-ridden business disputes that followed Communism’s end.

Deripaska, 49, notably made his fortune in the cut-throat metals industry, where contract killings were so common the struggle for assets became known as the "Aluminium Wars."

No wonder Trump doesn't want the Q-anon subscribers to actually pay attention to news. Because Trump eased sanctions on Deripaska's company. The payoff. Pay to play on an international scale. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/04/23/us-sanctions-russia-rusal-oleg-deripaska-545660

yep he was a minor criminal vs his boss... when you are taught by a kingpin ... well words do matter.

and needless to say his accountant, the first said what he was doing is illegal and they would not be involved, so he went to a new accountant who has admitted manafort wanted illegal activities and they did help.

for those who try to defend Manafort, in his trial his defence has been it was gates that did all the acts he was not aware of the illegal activities...

hahahahaha

well yesterday geee..... it was shown he presented papers to a bank to get a 16 million dollar loan from gates that Gates thanked manafort for using manaforts american express to charge 200k in baseball tickets is why manafort has such debt.

Well those were manaforts season tickets and gates never used them. A representative from the mets even testified that manafort called to have some things taken care of for the opening day game for him, not gates.

So it shows he directly had a fraud statement made at his request and he knew it was for a loan.

This is the same bank he promised the bank president he could be sec of the navy. obviously tic for tac trade for a 16 million dollar loan.

hahahaha another top trump right winger is going to jail.. The most corrupt administration in the history of the USA. Making us(a) a russia...

https://www.yahoo.com/news/yankees-emerge-key-evidence-paul-manafort-trial-034336474.html

Quote:
Multiple witnesses discussed $16 million in loans that Manafort received from the Federal Savings Bank despite doubts about his financial situation.

In 2016, executives at the Federal Savings Bank raised concerns about $300,000 in debt the veteran political operative had on an American Express card. Prosecutors showed messages indicating Manafort explained the debt with a letter from his colleague Rick Gates thanking him for a “loan to purchase Season Tickets for NY Yankees.”

Manafort used the note from Gates to indicate the tickets explained the $210,600 on the card.
