Iím familiar with the kite spots. Any place to sail besides Bird Island?

https://www.kiteboarding.com/where-to-ride.asp

Never been to bird island but it just seems odd to only have one place to sail?

What about spots in SPI?

Orleader beach for bunp and jump.
True North beach for slalom on N winds.
Carpenter and Port Aransas for shorepound waves.
Drive down to SPID for mellow waves, speedditch,oe BI type flatwater.

Yep... I think it's spelled Oleander Point. That's a great place. I sailed the US National's there a couple years ago. If it's windy it's not a easy as all along the inside of the Gulf Islands... but it is more interesting.

Yep, Oleander (actually Cole Park) and Bird Island are the most popular places. Bird Island - flat shallow water (can stand most places). Oleander can get good swell in winds above 25 mph for great jumping. Corpus Christi bay is not deep so the wave period is somewhat short. On a southeast wind (prevailing and side shore) it a nice launch with tons of grass, but you have to walk down a somewhat steep dirt trail for 50' to get to the small beach or there are some stairs.

If you look on Google maps, the sailing site is south of the main park where you find a smaller parking lot, across from Oleander Ave.

Packery Channel on southerly winds, and Port Aransas on northerly winds, are good places to wave sail.
