We have a $500 billion trade deficit with China. Who do you think is going to be hurt more?

Bard, isn't it about a balance of trade? Seemingly, America is coming up short with only growing deficits in that arena. Sadly, that's been happening for years now. We have to ask why?

Where are we going to go to recapture the future for a strong and vital America? It can't be going back to the past, and the idea of selling off our national resources only says a lot about a foolishness that been practiced for too long. It can't be a corporate giveaway to the 1% in control. And, aren't many of them behind shipping jobs and manufacturing offshore?

To think that Donald Trump understands that task, and the real responsibility in achieving it is laughable. One only has to look at what he's been saying and doing to see that, especially with the pitiful players in his administration and their twisted policies.

America needs real leadership for any chance of a vibrant and successful future in a global world.

Dude, the reason we have a deficit is because Wall St. told every company "if you don't offshore your manufacturing to China we will cut your ratings". So, they all did it.
It's really that simple Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

China owns $1.189 trillion of US debt as of October 2017.

F with them and they F with you!!!

Plain and simple.

Of course you gun loving, Trump humping losers will never get it Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

From today's Washington Post:

Quote:
The first is from the Brookings Institution, and it shows the number of 2016 jobs in all the industries targeted by China’s new round of threatened tariffs (click to enlarge):

This Brookings analysis, which is based on Emsi and Bureau of Labor Statistics data, shows the number of jobs in industries that have been targeted by China’s latest announcement of a second round of retaliatory tariffs, which include soybeans, cars and planes. This comes after the first round of China’s threatened tariffs on a far more limited range of products, including fruit, tree nuts and hog farming. Both rounds came in response to Trump’s own escalated tariff threats. In an earlier analysis, Brookings calculated that the first round of China tariffs targeted nearly 276,000 jobs — nearly 150,000 in counties carried by Trump and just over 125,000 in counties carried by Hillary Clinton.

The grand total of jobs that are in industries targeted by both rounds of China’s threatened tariffs: nearly 2 million, over 1 million of which are in Trump counties and over 900,000 of which are in Clinton counties.

“This is a much more industrial story, and potentially much more consequential,” Mark Muro, a senior fellow at Brookings, told me, adding that while blue territory such as Washington state and California is implicated, China’s latest tariffs mean “red counties and the manufacturing heartland are hit hard.”

To see the graph of job losses: https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2018/04/05/why-its-time-to-really-worry-about-trump-in-two-charts/?utm_term=.7c3e47ec9474&wpisrc=nl_most&wpmm=1

But then some still insist that electing amateurs, much less lying amateurs, is the best approach to politics.

You don't have to bite if the bark is effective enough, just ask little Kim.
"Art of the Deal" and all that.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We still don't know the red lines and where everything falls. Overall though, I don't think Donald Trump will come out on top. He loves being played to, and Kim Jong Un is undoubtedly up for the task. With no one being honest in the game, the ensuing theater should be interesting.

Why would Donald Trump choose to meet with a dangerous despot like Kim Jong Un? Un is only the latest in his family to play the game to their favor without giving up their nuclear power strategy, and unquestionably, an important place on the map for many years.

Damn, Trump is so desperate and needy these days, and he really needs something big to crow about, even if it's a total sham. What's this rooster going to do?
