And you can powerplate your foil forward. Buy the deep tuttle adapter for 99 bucks and make your own power plate from 5 mm aluminum flat stock or laminate your own from plywood and fiberglass.
It's all good, since you're mixing and matching.

Thanks for the various suggestions!

I tried the Chicken straps and they get in the way of the regular straps when those straps are all the way back. My toes hit the Chicken straps so it is very uncomfortable so I removed them.

I do however always ride with my foot in the middle when riding on swells. It gives much better control and is way more comfortable. I just do not have a strap there.

The Chinook foil adapter for deep tuttle boxes is an option, but I would prefer to have a board that has a built in track. The Naish not only has a built in track, but it is angled for early take off and slightly recesses to decrease drag, which are all advantages over the Chinook foil adapter.

Coachg I hear what you are saying and it makes sense. I will probably end up buying the new Naish board because of the issue you mention and I really want the ability to adjust the foil. I just hope I do not lose too much going with a board that has less width.

Dean, if I do buy it I will definitely post my comments on this forum or in your Facebook group. If Dallas was a little closer I would bring it by!

I'm using an old formula board and foot in front strap=upwind only with the Slingshot foil. Contemplating either inboard straps or a different board (most likely). I don't think the Slingshot wants more than an 80cm wide board.
I find myself placing my foot inboard of the front strap and it's quite stable there.

That's when Slingshot's half strap would start to apply.
For my flat feet, I need a slightly crowned deck. Even pure freestyle boards have slight crowns on the deck.
Waiting for wind and warmer air temps, it's now 55 degrees. 51 water, and 3-5 breeze.
Around here, when it comes up to past 8, it usually goes beyond 22 in the gusts.

Just my .5 cents. I live in Miami area were we not blessed with regular high winds, before that in Midwest similar situation. So, for the last 20+ years I've have being chasing a goal to plane/now foil in ultra light wind conditions.
Being on foil for over a year now, working with Alex Morales (Tiillo International). My take, for light wind foiling, you need to pump, to pump efficiently in light winds board has to be super short(205-212) , and width between 82-92, with foot straps positions on board, back foot strap midway to the center.
bottom of the board has to be complex, special cut out in the tail, front area needs to promote easy glide with minimal resistance to directional change, and extra volume. At this point my board/foil set up is close to perfect. My new limiting factor is sail, getting new 7.0 in a month from Avanti, but I think we at least a year away from really good light wind foil sail. If board designed correctly, don't need to move foil connection location. Minor adjustments to mast track position is all you need.

I think those half straps if used on the front with the opening facing the rear are a recipe for broken feet.

Half straps used as reference point for that foot. When you crash, your feet always comes out...similar to freestyle straps..narrow but really tall.
I suspect that for a given width board, there is a sail size within a meter and a half which is needed to optimise earliest planning.

We've been watching the foil vids.
Ever notice you can foil with a 8 meter race sail or a 6 meter free sail in the same winds?
Maximum downhaul is not needed at the bottom end of the windrange.
And a skilled sailor might be able to get by with a 4.7 in the same minimal breezes.
Not every sailor has the same skillset.
