There is another way to look at it. Looks like California tops Texas and North Carolina for most dangerous states - maybe because having guns deters crime?
BS? Who knows, but just something to think about.

Opinion piece for infotainment it admits. Not surprising it would find its way to you. Rest assured that Alabama is near the top in both categories. Of course it is last in education, and nearly at the bottom on economy and opportunity. Must not be the guns, selling bullets is 50% of the GDP. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/alabama |

Trying to get rid of prop. 13, the libs have always hated it.
Major property tax increases are on the launch pad as California politicians try to repeal prop 13 by slipping it under the radar. California's Attorney General, Xavier Becerra is putting together plans to raise property tax revenue by eliminating the only thing keeping some people's property tax from sky rocketing, Prop 13.
Because they know it will be unpopular if presented as "Repeal Prop 13," Xavier Becerra has strategically relabeled it "Education and Local Government Funding." It's already on the 2020 ballot and much like the gasoline tax, it will be worded in a way that misleads California voters. People renting may see it as a way to get something for nothing, but the long term result will be higher rents to pay due to the increase in property taxes. People are leaving the state in record numbers, and many here are barely hanging on, this could be something that changes the face of California forever. |
I have been expecting California’s rate of population growth to slow since the total population surpassed that of Texas—and people thought it was great. There are certainly significant problems in California, and congestion is behind some of those problems—but NW couldn’t find those problems—or his ass—with both hands. |
Thank you to the smart Ca. voters, who helped defeat this poor excuse for more taxes, where the Ca. Lottery, in large part, is supposed to be taking care of this stuff. Now the state needs to get to work doing what should be done, getting the suspicious spending out of the lottery system, and back to the schools. Adding taxes is the lazy way to get that money back.

The point is that Calif. is more dangerous than Texas and North Carolina, which was in response to Mac's claim about gun deaths: Quote: | North Carolina’s death rate is higher than Texas, but not quite double California’s. Suicide by those stuck in swine shit ponds? |

Dangerous as in what?
Being raped? Rates per 100,000
CA 39.2
TX 51.2
NC 25.4
Getting killed by a gun? Rates per 100,000
CA 7.5
TX 12.2
NC 14.8
Getting killed in an auto accident? Rates per 100,000
CA 10.6
TX 13.8
NC 14.8
Or do you define dangerous by how long you can expect to live?
CA 78.6 years
TX 76.1 years
NC 75.4 years
Did I point out that Mexico has a life expectancy of 76.7?
As far as safety or danger regarding guns there is about as much correlation as there is between gun laws & gun deaths. Absolutely none. Safehome.org used CDC & FBI data for all these charts.
https://www.safehome.org/resources/gun-laws-and-deaths/
Some states have strict gun laws & low deaths while others have strict gun laws & high death rates.

Coachg - take it up with roadsacks.net
Quote: | Note: We get the crime numbers from the FBI, which gets its crime numbers from the states themselves. This list is based on data. It’s also not a testament to the effectiveness of local law enforcement. |
