R U kidding me .
No Squaw? Telluride, JH, Big Sky, Snowbird , Mammoth , Whistler all great ..
No Crested Butte?
No Squaw
Steamboat is the flattest most boring ski area in CO
Park City ditto |
Did you read the list??
Telluride 1
JH 2
Steamboat 3.....nice place but not my Fav
Snowbird/ alta....4
Whistler, Vail, Beaver, Big Sky, are all very good
Parkcity/Canyons has some fine skiing and the best ski town in the West.
Not a perfect list but way better than most I see. |
OK let's do some Bro speak...
I've skied:
Squaw
Alpine
Sun Valley
Bogus Basin
Brundage
Silver Mountain
Schweitzer
Look Out Pass
Mount Spokane
Snow Bowl
Alta
Snowbird
Park City
Sundance
Brighton
Mt. Bachelor
Steam Boat
Aspen
Crested Butte
Monarch
Mt. Hood
Mt. Ashland
Bluewood
Anthony Lakes
Whistler
Grouse Mt...
To name a few...It's all about conditions. Steep and lots of verts does me no good it it's hard pack. I want deep, light pow. One of my best days ever has at Steamboat in overhead fluffy light pow. Got lucky. I've had rainy days at Whistler and hard pack days at Sun Valley, not so lucky.
To say that this place or that place is the best is to ignore the conditions of the day. I'd take 12 inches of new at a po-dunk mountain over lots of steep verts that are hard pack and icy at some glitzy resort.
And...if you really knew what you were doing, you'd be in the back county...that's where the magic is. I've done multiple trips into the Wallowa's, the Bitterroots the Sawtooths and the Canadian Rockies. Nothing like first tracks on a fresh canvas of pow, the hope that the slope does not slide...and setting a skin track back up for another round of fun.
I don't care about apres ski...I can make my own fun. It's all about the skiing, not the lodge.
Bro speak off. |
Nice!!! I can have a good time at any resort. I am not a big fan of Deer Valley but I did have one of my best days out west there 2 years ago...2 feet of fresh snow , spent the whole day tree skiing and in the Empire canyon. I love ripping smooth corduroy also.. Just like kiting or WS, nice to mix it up with some bump and jump, waves, or butter flats.... |

Vientomas great piece... I agree 100%!!
Although I do admit that I love steep hardpack conditions as long as there’s no ice... |

Well, I won't be left out. At this time, I limit myself to groomers, including blacks that are groomed. That's all I can handle at age 73 and only ski one week a year. But I have been doing it for 58 years.
Calif:
Snow Summit
Mt. Baldy
Big Bear
Mammoth
June Mt.
Heavenly
Squaw Valley
Canada:
Whistler
Utah:
Snow Bird
Alta
Canyons
Park City
Deer Valley
Colorado:
Telluride
Breckenridge
Loveland
Arapahoe
Monarch
Keystone
Durango
Crested Butte
Vail
Beaver Creek
Aspen - all four mountains
Steamboat
Winter Park
Copper Mt.
North Carolina:
Sugar Mt.
Beech
West Virginia:
Winterplace
Vermont:
Bromley
Stratton
My favorite: Telluride - great variety of runs and no lift lines. Just came back yesterday after 5 days skiing, beautiful but cold. |

Key Mueller witness outs Stone for attempted Wikileaks collusion
Quote: | In a news-making interview, one of two witnesses named in Bob Mueller’s indictment of Roger Stone, Jerome Corsi, joins MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber to give his perspective of Stone’s indictment. Corsi, named as “Person 1” in the indictment, tells Ari Melber that the indictment seems “entirely correct” as it relates to his testimony with Mueller’s prosecutors. Corsi also reveals that Stone contacted him on “the day that Wikileaks” began releasing John Podesta’s emails to talk about a “timing issue” and that Mueller’s team were “absolutely” interested in that information. |
