'Trump far dumber and immoral and ignorant and lazy' than staffers knew before they worked for him: report

The retired U.S. Marine Corps general joined the White House halfway through Trump's first year, and New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" about what Kelly learned about the former president and his abilities.

"So when Kelly came in as chief of staff, he thought that the problem around Trump was that he was not staffed properly and they needed to create a process around him, and that's what the chaos of the first six months of the administration was about," Schmidt said. "But when Kelly comes in as chief of staff, what he realizes is that the problem is not just the fact that there's not a process and that he's not being staffed as well as he could, but that Trump himself was the problem, that Trump was far dumber and immoral and ignorant and lazy than he ever thought he was."

"Within a few days, he becomes terrified because here he is, the top staffer to the president of the United States, and he's realizing that the president of the United States is far more limited and potentially dangerous than he ever thought, and at that point, there was no one else to call," Schmidt added. "He was -- it was just him and Trump, and he basically spends the next 18 months trying to manage Trump as much as he could."

This one was great what a idiot. Rubio goes on his balloing rant, that Biden should have gone on national tv and told the nation what was going on.

you know pure right wing hate.

then he was informed after his hate rant, the chinese did this at least 3 times under trump and he did nothing.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/marco-rubio-deflated-after-learning-trump-let-a-chinese-spy-balloon-fly-over-the-u-s-3-times-video/ar-AA178m2B?ocid=winp2fptaskbarhover&cvid=3695befd32424a8cb93f16d2a61b9d1b

Marco Rubio Deflated After Learning Trump Let a Chinese Spy Balloon Fly Over the U.S. 3 Times

Quote:
Marco Rubio's "Biden doesn't know what he's doing" balloon of hot air got popped Sunday when "This Week" host Jonathan Karl told him that former President Donald Trump let a Chinese spy balloon fly over the U.S. three times during his administration and did nothing.

Karl set up the exchange with the Republican senator from Florida saying that President Biden ordered the massive balloon shot down based on the advice of the military - when it was over the ocean rather than overpopulated land. Although Rubio agreed that "shooting something out of the sky that is the size of three buses and it lands on the wrong place," falling debris could have "hurt, harmed or killed people" on the ground, he went on to criticize Biden for not telling the American people what they were dealing with.

"If that was the case, then I think it really would have been helpful for the President of the United States to get on national television and explain to the American people, 'This is what we're dealing with, this is what I'm going to do about it, and this is why I haven't done it yet,'" Rubio said. "None of that happened. And I don't know why. I don't know why they waited so long to tell people about this if they knew the trajectory it was on since last week."

Karl let Rubio complete his thought and then spoke up, nonchalantly informing Rubio that what he is criticizing Biden for doing, Trump did three times during his administration.

"This happened three times under the previous president," Karl said. "Obviously, there were no public notifications there."

You can watch the entire exchange in the clip above.

To get you up to speed, Wednesday, defense officials in the U.S. and Canada announced that what appeared to be a surveillance balloon the size of three busses originating from China had been spotted floating in the stratosphere 31 miles above Montana and far above commercial air traffic. It was said to contain some kind of "technology bay," meaning it had electronic equipment of some kind.

Wednesday, President Biden order it to be shot down but doing so was delayed until it was over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of South Carolina to ensure no one on the ground was hurt.

House Democrat tears into Republicans over member 'indicted on 13 counts' and Nazi-affiliated aide

Quote:

U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) blasted her House Republican colleagues Tuesday afternoon, suggesting they should stop throwing stones until they clean up their own ranks. Congresswoman Crockett slammed Republicans for having a member who was just “indicted on 13 counts,” apparently referring to Rep. George Santos (R-NY), and another member whose staffer has ties to a white supremacist who, she says, brags he’s just like Hitler. She also chastised them for claiming to care about sexual assault statistics in D.C. while the Republican presidential “front runner has just been found liable for sexual abuse.”

“My Republican colleagues want to talk about keeping D.C. streets crime free. They can’t even keep the halls of Congress crime free,” Rep. Crockett told her colleagues on the House Oversight Committee. “My freshman colleague has just been indicted on 13 counts, 13 felony counts, right?” she said, appearing to refer to U.S. Rep. George Santos (R-NY), but not mentioning him by name.

“But have they exhibited any courage to say, ‘You know what? We will disallow this in our body, we will make sure that we expel that individual’? They have not. So what I don’t want to hear is that they care about crime because if they did, they would start by cleaning up our own House and mind our own business instead of coming after D.C.”

Rep. Crockett, an attorney, wasn’t quite done. She responded later to video of her remarks (below), tweeting: “Folks in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones – and it looks like under this current majority this House is made of glass…”

Crockett also took U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) to task, also while not mentioning him or his staffer by name. This week news broke that one of Congressman Gosar’s aides has ties to neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes. Fuentes is an incel, white supremacist and white Christian nationalist who promotes antisemitism, Holocaust denialism, racism, and misogynistic and anti-LGBTQ extremist beliefs. Fuentes is head of the so-called “Groypers.”

“We’ve got to talk about these root causes. Number one, the fact that we have elected legislators that won’t do their job and protect people by keeping these weapons off the streets. That’s number one,” she said, referring to Republicans’ refusal to pass gun control legislation.

“Number two, we are still reeling from a financial crisis. And guess what? They don’t want to make it better. I’m sure they all campaigned and said, ‘Oh, we’re gonna help out the economy post-COVID.’ But right now we are on a cliff over the debt ceiling. The debt ceiling that was raised three times under Trump and 25% of this credit card bill that they don’t want to pay was accrued under Trump and he only had one term and hopefully he won’t have no mo.”

“Nevertheless, I digress. Let me move on. So let’s also talk about the fact that just recently I think it was yesterday or two days ago, we received reports that there is a staff member who’s working for a Republican on this committee, who has ties with and supports a white nationalist who has proclaimed himself to be just like Hitler,” Crockett said, apparently referring to Rep. Gosar and his aide, identified by Talking Points Memo‘s Hunter Walker as Wade Searle, Gosar’s digital director.

“I don’t really know what to say except for the fact that this is a farce, right? Because the fact is, we’ve got an increase in crime all over. If we really want to be real about it, let’s talk about it. We’re talking about D.C. right now, but the murder rates in red states like Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, have statistically exceeded those in blue states like Illinois, New Mexico and Michigan every year since 2000,” she added.

Still not finished blasting Republicans, Rep. Crockett turned her attention to Donald Trump.

As the video below shows, the committee was discussing sexual abuse statistics. Rep. Crockett says, “I’m so excited that my colleagues across the aisle care about sexual abuse, considering that the front runner right now for like, presidency is kind of just been found liable of sexual abuse. So I’m excited because this may mean that finally some folk will back off from supporting him because we don’t support sexual abusers in this chamber. So I’m happy about this.”

Crockett, responding to that video, tweeted, “I just call them as I see them.”

People furious with Brett Favre after Donald Trump news

Quote:
Brett Favre is one of the more controversial figures in the news these days due to his involvement in the Mississippi welfare scandal where he allegedly sought and received millions of dollars intended for Mississippi’s poorest citizens, and he recently revealed that he supports a presidential candidate that is somehow more controversial.

During an appearance on Jason Whitlock’s “Fearless” podcast this week, Favre revealed that he thinks the country was “in better shape” with Donald Trump as the president.

“I think our country was in better shape with him,” Favre told Whitlock. “I think Donald was a non-political president, and I liked that about him. Was he perfect? Absolutely not. Am I perfect? Absolutely not. I’m flawed just like the rest of ’em. We’re all flawed. But I really felt like he had our country in a better place and really cared about our people in our country.

“Black, white, Hispanic, Asian, you name it. I think if you were an American citizen, he cared about you, first and foremost. I don’t know if our current president has the same mentality.”

The comments certainly generated quite a bit of buzz on social media, with plenty of people absolutely blasting Favre.

Senate Candidate ‘Patriot Whistleblower’ Admits to Fabricating Sex Trafficking Story

Quote:
Afailed Republican congressional candidate who allied with prominent Stop The Steal conspiracy theorists has admitted to fabricating a story about child sex trafficking to gain attention for his campaign.

Ryan Dark White, who ran a longshot Senate bid in Maryland under the name Jon McGreevey and sometimes referred to himself as the “Patriot Whistleblower,” caused a furor last year when he described lurid acts of child abuse that he allegedly witnessed while working in an adult bookstore. White’s claims of child trafficking made him a sympathetic figure on the far right, where he had made similar and baseless allegations against Mike Pence and Chief Justice John Roberts following Trump’s 2022 election loss.

But the adult bookstore claims were a lie, White admitted this month.

“On April 9th, 2022, I went to work at The Mistress,” White wrote in a public apology, released by police on Thursday. “When I arrived at work, I noticed a young girl and elderly male in the store near the ATM. I immediately recognized this as an opportunity to potentially obtain traction for my political career as I was running for US Senate.”

The apology goes on to note that he distributed pictures of the child to his followers, falsely claiming the child was being trafficked. (Following an investigation, police said they tracked down the man who had entered the store with a girl, and confirmed that he had indeed entered the store to use its ATM.) Though he did not mention it in his apology, White also made videos claiming to have seen the child half-nude and that she had been forced into sex acts with adults in the back of the store.

White, who did not return requests for comment, was charged last July with filing a false police report in the case. But rather than confess at the time, White claimed the charges were part of a broader deep state effort to silence him and upend his congressional campaign.

In a July 18 video, White claimed to have been “working undercover” at the adult bookstore. He denied having filed a false report because the complaint emerged after he told the trafficking story to other people, who took it seriously and raised alarm. “Now how is that me filing a false police report? Didn’t happen. One lie after another. The continued insinuation that I am using this for political gain. Pathetic.”

After the charges, White falsely accused the arresting officer of consorting with a sex trafficker. “I also posted photographs of him and his wife on my Truth Social account to have my follower base harass him,” White admitted in his apology.

White’s claims of being an undercover porn store investigator came more than a year after he’d positioned himself as a whistleblower in conspiracy circles. In Jan. 2021, he gave a deposition to pro-Trump lawyer Lin Wood, claiming without evidence that former Vice President Mike Pence and Chief Justice John Roberts had been involved in child sex trafficking.

Soon after the deposition, Wood appeared to refer to it in court filings (in which Wood argued that he should not be punished for social media posts implying Roberts was a trafficker). “My posts are protected speech and I have credible whistleblower evidence to support the truth of my statements,” Wood wrote in a Feb. 2021 court filing.

Court records show that White pleaded guilty to drug charges in 2010, and to health care fraud and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person in 2016.

In a statement on White’s apology this week, Harford County, Maryland Sheriff Jeff Gahler said that prosecutors seldom pursue charges of filing false police reports.

“However, in this case,” Gahler said, “when such serious allegations are levied and a tremendous amount of law enforcement man hours are put into investigating the allegations, protests were organized against the business and many members of our community were and sheriff’s office were professionally and personally attacked and demeaned, it was imperative that Mr. White be held responsible for his purposeful actions and his wildly false claims and accusations.”

hmm will the media cover this...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/border-crossing-numbers-plunge-as-cbp-s-online-app-new-deportation-rules-take-effect/ar-AA1dXITS?cvid=ccb230d6273c4ac7e745293712c225c0&ocid=winp2fptaskbarhover&ei=12

Border-crossing numbers plunge as CBP's online app, new deportation rules take effect

Quote:

The U.S. government’s two-pronged approach at the U.S.-Mexico border – migrants now use a smartphone-based app to start the asylum process and face deportation if they make an unauthorized border crossing – is leading to a steep drop in the number of migrants intercepted at the border, according to U.S. officials.

Officials tout U.S. Custom and Border Protection’s new CBP One app for smartphones and other border policies as key reasons in the decline at the border, though migrant and human rights advocates note that other factors – including coils of razor wire along the Texas banks of the Rio Grande – could also be playing a role.

Border agents encountered about 100,000 asylum-seekers along the U.S.-Mexico border in June, a 50% drop from the 204,561 encountered in May, according to a senior CBP official. Advocates are also reporting fewer migrants in shelters along the border.

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

The effectiveness of President Biden’s border policies will be one of the most closely watched issues ahead of next year’s presidential election. But just how successful the app and policies have been in driving down numbers at the border remains in debate.

“It’s a mixture,” said Felicia Rangel-Samponaro, director of the Sidewalk School, which assists migrants in Reynosa and Matamoros, Mexico. “People are getting appointments. People are using it. Then, of course, there are a lot of people who don’t have access to phones.”

"Incandescently stupid": Former DHS official says he had to "dumb" down classified memos for Trump
Story by Gabriella Ferrigine • 11h ago

Quote:

Miles Taylor, who served as chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security under Donald Trump, shared how he often had to oversimply national security reports for the former president.

"This fifty-page memo that we would normally give to any other president about what his options are is something Trump literally can't read. The man doesn't read. We've gotta boil this down into a one-pager in his voice," Taylor told podcast host Brett Meiselas on Tuesday. "And so I had to write this incandescently stupid memo called something like, 'Afghanistan, How to Put America First and Win.' And then bullet by bullet, I summed up this highly classified memo into Trump's sort of bombastic language because it was the only way he was gonna understand," Taylor added. "I mean, I literally said in there, 'You know, if we leave Afghanistan too fast, the terrorists will call us losers. But if we wanna be seen as winners, we need to make sure the Afghan forces have the strength to push back against these criminals.' I mean, it was that dumb and that's how you had to talk to him."
