Wow, cool... you're friends with Glen Plake?

Nope, I don't know Glen, I think we're a slightly different Ski generation.
But I can totally see him doing it with a spike through his nose at least. ;*)

Haha Craig... well I thought it might be possible that you met Plake, since I know he's done plenty of shredding in Utah... and you mentioned riding Downhill skis through bumps, which Glen probably did more than most (often documented in ski films).
And as you know, he is also famous for his "spiked hair"... so... you know... too many coincidences... I had to ask, LOL

BTW - He would be very jealous of the way you shred and jump in the Gorge!

Campfire stories.
Most D2 racers are extremely lite weight.
Bernard, who sails Berkeley a lot, was Olympic qualified in D2 for Argentina, and still rides a Leckner occasionally.
Some time in the mid-90's, Tom Stone borrowed my Leckner to race in the Nationals held at Crissy. A very foggy Nationals that year. Tom was a renowned Pipeline surfer and Dad of Josh and Jason.

Tall ski stories..
'74, with Fischer C4 225, was the next rider after Steve McKinney in qualifying at Squaw's speed event that year held at Siberia. He qualified at 98, and within my sight as he merged with GoldCoast. Timers focused on him and I never got an official time for that run. I failed to qualify at 82 on the next run as the snow got softer and chopped up.
