East winds yesterday. Hell of a time getting the H4 to go upwind either overpowered on a 6.0 or under powered on a 4.5. Saved from the foiling walk of shame when the wind came up for half a hour. Be nice if you could have a compromise between the surfy H4 and upwind capability of the H2.

Tony talks about Stage 3 having mostly front foot pressure. Think I'm still too much back foot. Especially in east winds.

The Slingshot stabilizer is not adjustable to my knowledge.

Mine has much better balance with a 1/8" shim between the wing and tailpiece under the rear bolt.

I just went to ACE Hardware and got some plastic washers that fit around the bolt then sanded the sides until they fit. Also I have the fuselage setup with the wing as forward as possible.
Doesn't feel like I've lost much speed but control is significantly improved.

Out yesterday on the H4 in very low 20's. Finally put a front strap on the Dialer, so I was able hold a lot more power (6.0 Flyer). It was great fun being to drive the foil around as hard as I wanted. I had to unhook and feather the sail sometimes to ride down the swell, but that is what surfing must feel like.

So, for now I'm going to think of the H4 foil not as a light wind machine, but as a fin that needs to be driven hard. Not going to mess with excessive pumping on marginal days.

StringP, thanks for sharing!!! I just got a great H4 session yesterday, I'm still new but really like the feel of the H4, feels very surfy yet very stable as well.

Also, I switched the fuselage so that the Mast is back as far as it can putting the wing forward max, that seemed to lend to easily get lift.

When I have time, I'll swap out the H2 with the H4 just to compare.

Got a lot to learn, I'm splitting between 2 and 3 foot masts, I'm liking the 2 foot mast so far, the 3 foot mast has some big crash potential.

Really helpful posts, thanks!

Running into limitations with the H4 in light winds. In mid teens with a 6.0 Flyer I could not plane and stay upwind as well as Kevin on a large conventional board and a 7.5 sail. Hopefully the new H11 would be the light wind answer.
