i broke my harness lines from a hard landing earlier this week. luckily the type of break was on one of the webbing (see first picture below):

i was able to keep sailing by putting the good side over the broken side
(see 2nd picture below). the line ended up a bit shorter but it held through the session. hopefully this helps someone in a similar situation.

Nice conversion to mono lines. That is where my lines usually break as well as the mount on the boom stays firm while the lines move up & down causing a grinding action at that spot until they break. I made it a habit to check that spot once a month to look for signs of wear. Now I use cliplines so I no longer have that problem.

I once sailed using my uphaul looped to the middle of my boom after my harness line broke in the middle at way outside Kailua. Wanted to finish that session before heading home.

For non-racing lines I have been using Dakine fixed lines. I do find the clip lines to be just as stiff. The one area I noticed is that on the skinny booms the clip lines can pivot easily up & down so some times the lines fall really close to the sail forcing me to have to use my thumbs to pivot them out. I'm going to try the same trick I use on my regular harness lines by twisting them inwards so the bottom loop curves out away from the sail.

Things I like about the lines. They look like they should by far outlive normal lines. They are much easier to adjust. They do not tear up the boom grip. I do not have to take my boom apart to remove/install them.

I have had them for two months now & the only issue is them falling in towards the sail which I already addressed.
