I am paying for this service to find out what the wind is doing at Waddell. It is down quite often, and I know many of us rely on this site. So why are we paying for nothing ?

Well I would not have put it so starkly, but we have come to rely on the good services of IWindsurf. The most important single feature for many of us is...the Waddell Sensor. It has been down since June 13.
Could IWindsurf consider hiring a local tech here in the Greater Bay Area to fix these things when they fail, without having to arrange trips, etc.
Mike, can you please expedite getting the Waddell Sensor working properly?
Thanks,

I actually think we've been pretty patient but the summer season is here where Waddell has its own micro-climate and there really isn't any substitute for the sensor itself. In the summer HMB can be glassy and foggy and Waddell 24mph.
Conversely, yesterday the Bay was nuking and at 2pm Waddell was struggling to get to 20mph.
2.5 hours roundtrip drive time.
Please!

FX - agree we have been patient. But, they have our $, and nothing is going to happen. Before filing a complaint with the PUC, with some regret I am suggesting not to support one pop-up advertiser each week on iwindsurf until there is a date certain that someone from Florida or where ever the overlords of iwindsurf hideout, actually plan on showing up in the Bay Area to fix the equipment.

Waddell sensor was up yesterday and today so far! Is it just intermittent, or does begging work?
Anyway, thanks,

Hi Gang,
There are over 500 sensors in the queue that need the unexpected 3g to 4g upgrade. It may surprise some of you but there are others in the same queue who really need their sensor reliability back. Among sensors in the queue is our Hurricane Network that we run for NOAA & NWS and which is critical with the approaching hurricane season. These other customers also have a place in the queue: http://weatherflow.com/professional-services/weather-networks/
So the sensor teams have been flying and working down the queue all over the USA. Now the Bay Area's place in the queue is June 11-16. During that time they will fix the intermittent Waddell & Treasure Island sensor electronics and make the 3g-4g upgrade to the Berkeley and other sensors.
None of us like being in a queue. But most of us learn that queues are a reality of life if everyone is to have their needs met. And the one thing worse than a queue is seeing someone trying to bully their way to the front of the queue. Thank you for your patience.
And below are some photos of our sensor crew and their work.
