The bacteria scare only effected the upper lake not
near the boat launch wherever that is. Sailed Oniel
forebay all last year no restrictions on oniel forebay .
I was there yesterday 4.2 and gusty
all day going super nuclear at about 5 pm .
A crowd during the week is a couple of people on
either side. On the weekend maybe twice that.
Sometimes I am solo there.
I believe is was David that started this thread is there
on the South side going at it hard all day long every time
it goes off.
There are now subsurface weeds in the Cove on the North
side which are enough to cause a spin out problem on
large fins with no sweep. I was OK yesterday on a trifin
with a 16.5 center fin.
Entry day use fee is now 10 bucks and your boards have
to be dry and clean do to the quagga muscle inspection.
A poppy pass works out well if you go there a lot and also
gets you in at Natural bridges. Poppy pass is 125 I believe .

Last year they sprayed for weed early so they never really got
bad all season.

I was there last weekend with the LWSC windsurfing group on the Medieros side. Not a single weed in site. I was very surprised for this time of year. I was also surprised more people don't sail there. I took a group of 10, mostly beginners & intermediates who had never been there. All were very impressed & want to go again. Two got their first ever water starts. It is such a great place to learn.

That's good to hear that we get some new blood out there.
Get's lonely out there most of the time.

Was there again today 9 sailors on the North side a veritable
crowd looking for the leftovers of yesterday. You had to work to
find a planing patch on medium to big stuff water level high
weather nice.
Then smoke started coming over the damm lasted a couple of
hours . On the way home you could see it was at the base to the top
of the hill where the big windmills sit. They got it out pretty fast.

There never really was much of a weed problem all season last year
they now spray for weed early . August was more like May June.
