Over 2000 children taken from their parents and being kept in cages. Are you kidding me? Tell me that you’re not outraged and ashamed that our country is doing this. |

I haven't followed this closely, so I wonder, are Republicans really that disgusting? If these things are happening, I am deeply ashamed. What is half the country thinking?
"Over the last few days, stories of bureaucratic sadism have poured forth from America's southern border. ... The New York Times reported on a mother deported to Guatemala without her 8-year-old son. In The Washington Post, the president of the American Academy of Pediatrics described a shelter for toddlers where staffers aren't allowed to hug or hold the bereft children. ProPublica obtained a recording of small children wailing for their parents in a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility, ..
Senator Ben Sasse, a Nebraska Republican, dispatched this argument in a Facebook post on Monday. "The administration's decision to separate families is a new, discretionary choice. Anyone saying that their hands are tied or that the only conceivable way to fix the problem of catch-and-release is to rip families apart is flat wrong," he wrote. Some in the administration, he added, "have decided that this cruel policy increases their legislative leverage."

Hey phoney outraged idiots, Those photos of children in cages were during the Obama administration. Criminals are routinely split away from their children. And,A huge number of these children are being brought across the border by smugglers and perverts. They can't even determine whether those are their real parents or not |

The "cages" went with BHO's administration, what you see now days is fenced in areas inside of buildings, and it's for temp holding only.
This has been going on since the illegal children rush of 5-6 years ago.
But you have to admit, the MSM desperately needs a distraction from the other news stories, the IG report, N.K., the economy, it's hard now days, got to reanimate an old issue, besides "it's for the children".
So it's suckering in the usual suspects here and in the media, just fine, it's working perfectly,,,,,,,,,,,, amongst them anyway. |

Worse than the administration are the voters standing up for them, apparently till the bitter end. When even one of their own, someone like Sasse who sees through the lies and has at least some decency left, cannot sway them. Abhorrence aside, an interesting observation from a historic and civic perspective.
To be sure, the cages are not the issue. The issue is separation of young children from their parents. Go ahead and defend that, or take another look at the statement from Sasse and other, decent people and do some critical thinking. |

Critical thinking is what dems seem to struggle with, or they simply don't care and they would prefer to flood our country with their new voter base.
The goal is to send a strong message to future law breakers that our borders are closed to those that do not use the proper channels to come to our country.
Just think of all the kids who will not suffer, get raped or die in the desert attempting to get here.
To say they are worsre off now in clean, safe , air conditioned facilities with three meals a day is comical.......I THOUGHT THEY WERE RUNNING FROM HELL. |

Quote: | The False Choice Between Jailing Children and Separating Families
6-12-18 Candice Bernd
The Trump administration is giving Congress an ultimatum: overturn legal limits on the incarceration of children and expand family detention, or the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will continue to separate families who illegally cross the border.
The administration is asking Congress to roll back protections for migrant children in immigration laws to allow DHS officials to more easily jail and deport them. The changes would also make it more difficult for children to pursue asylum.
Moreover, White House officials are blaming Democrats for an increase in migrants at the border, saying their refusal to spend more on border security has given immigrants fleeing Central America incentives to enter the US without permission. “The current immigration and border crisis … are the exclusive product of loopholes in federal immigration law that Democrats refuse to close,” Stephen Miller, the president’s top adviser on immigration policy, told reporters last month.
This isn’t the first time the White House has tried to reverse protections in order to lock up more families. Facing a much more drastic surge of unaccompanied children and families in 2014, the Obama administration proposed some of the same changes, relying heavily on jailing families over releasing them with a court date.
But the administration was forced to scale the practice back, releasing thousands of families after a federal court ruled in 2015 that jailing children (even with parents) for longer than 20 days violated the 1997 Flores agreement, a court settlement resulting from a previous legal challenge to government’s practice of incarcerating children.
Now, the Trump administration is pressuring Democrats to overturn the Flores agreement so the White House can again ramp up family detention. Without family jails, the Trump administration contends that its hands are tied, and must separate families so that the adults can be jailed and prosecuted under the Justice Department’s new “zero-tolerance” policy.
Not only is there no statute mandating that the government criminally charge families who cross the border without permission, there have long been alternatives to both separating families and placing them together in immigrant jails. |
Yes, there are alternatives that the left would like, but that basically allows the release of families, hoping they return for future hearings. How many will actually return?
No one in the left leaning media places any blame on the adults/parents that drag their children across the boarder knowing the consequences of violating US law. The kids are pawns and the parents are to blame, and the left is falling pray to the scheme. |

Speaking of the media, how about Drudge, the Bible for idiots, posting a picture of children immigrants in Syria with toy guns yesterday to depict the Central American children immigrants...Looks like it worked!!! |
