Hold on there buckaroo! Let me see if I understand you. Your position is that the numbers in the article are "opinion"? Did you note that the article cited and provided links to the source of the information? The source being the U.S. Customs and Border Protection? You know, federal government entity that:

Please answer directly: The article that cites that U.S. Customs and Border Protection is fake news? You don't believe the numbers posted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection? mac's post about those apprehended or turned away at the border average 1/2 million each of the last 8 years. So, since we have about 11 million already here illegally, and we are turning away 1/2 million more each year.
Don't you guys understand the scope of this problem? It's just mind boggling that so many seem to think it's no big deal. Something has to be done to stop the flow, and the catch and release (which for now has been stopped - maybe).
They choose us simply because we are so damn EASY. Why not some other Central or South American country for a refuge? Trump sees the problem and tries to actually make a difference, and all he gets is blow back.
Pretty soon, we will all have to "ponche uno para inglés". |

The population of the United States is over 325 million. Those who imagine that 1/2 million a year will inexorably change our culture and language seem to have no grasp of numbers or scale, the number of people of Hispanic descent here legally, or the strength of the American melting pot. Or perhaps it is "brown panic", akin to the "gay panic" defense used by those who murder homosexuals. |

I guess everyone failed to read the graph, or notice the operative term was "turned away." SAD!
Obama's efforts targeted those with felony convictions and members of gangs, and were extraordinarily unpopular in urban Hispanic communities. Trump is meaner and dishonest, and without a shred of competence. If pointing that out is "grief", then maybe the righties don't understand what "competent" or the "rule of law" mean. |
