All are reliably red, all are dominated by evangelicals, and all are anti-union.

In the meantime, the Bay area's economy has grown at twice the national level. Republican predictions about the high cost of housing and taxes in California leading to collapse are--so much happy horseshit.

"In the meantime, the Bay area's economy has" further divided the distance between the very wealthy and the poor, by shrinking the middle class who can no longer afford to live there under a roof. Leaving a city of the rich surrounded by poor homeless pissing and shitting in the streets of a once beautiful city. Most of the middle class has left.

"All", "all", "all", mac's typical broad brush, swipes again.

Poorest states doesn't mean much unless you factor in cost of living which is the number after each state ranked by lowest cost of living being #1:

California comes in at number 49 only behind DC and Hawaii. You can be rich in California and still be poor by comparison.

techno900, just because Donald Trump won the Electoral College and became president doesn't mean that he represents the majority of folks in this country. You know that's true, but maybe you don't care.

My comments weren't intended to reargue the 2016 election, and I think you know that too. I think most thoughtful folks look to future elections to ferret out where this country is going. While Democrats represent the minority in Congress right now, they do actually represent the majority of American voters in the nation. It will be a tough road to flip the House or the Senate, but it is becoming an increasing possibility, particularly considering the fact that Republicans are deeply divided, and they are having difficulty accomplishing anything meaningful for the nation. Moreover, having a dishonest con man in the White House saying and doing stupid things isn't going to be helping the Republican cause. You just might want to look beyond your right wing bubble to see that trouble is brewing for Republicans.

Nice job Techno

You complain about divisiveness in America and the regurgitate an opinion piece based on stereotypes, assumptions and manipulation of data presented as factual.

Tell me. What, exactly, is your point? Conservatives are better people?

I support the author's view of how the left portrays itself from the eye of a conservative. Plus what Iso posted:
Quote:
Conservative views:
Rule of law derived from the Constitution.
Strong military.
Responsibility for one's actions.
Capitalism.
Well managed national borders.

It's your point, but made with only half the information needed to be valid. If you want us to buy into your bias, you do the work, otherwise you are wasting your time.

Hmmmm. This would be a perfect response to YOUR post.

Techno. You, and a lot of Conservatives and Liberals, like to draw a line in the sand and dare someone to be one side of it or the other.

That's why nothing gets done in this country and why there is so much divisiveness.

The most religious person I know is a liberal.
The most conservative person I know is pro gay marriage.
The most heroic vet I know is a liberal
The most successful, self made, responsible person I know is a liberal.
I go target practicing with a liberal
I go to charity events for homeless transients with a conservative.

Fortunately, I don't believe your BS that our politics is so black and white or I would be pretty lonely.

Dennis Miller: "The Left is way ahead in the Restaurant Confrontation Column. The Right is building a reciprocal lead in the Supreme Court Justice Column. Duty is in the eye of the beholder."
