I picked up a used Streamlined, US cup, single bolt base for my wife because she admired the hefty handles that make it easier to tighten on board. The problem is that it unscrews itself. It turns out the lower tendon socket doesn't rotate once tightened onto board (any board), though, if I just tighten the nut down onto the base, it's fine.

I have disassembled completely, cleaned everything, solved nothing. Only response I have been able to get from streamlined is a picture of a disassembled, Euro-pin joint, and only difference between my piece and the photo I got from Streamlined is I only have one conical washer under head of bolt. Otherwise no help from them. My base is a US cup and just has two single wings for emergency strap.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I have had coming loose with Streamlined and another, single bolt . Both companies said a faulty nut/bolt was the problem.

There will be a multitude posting that say they use single bolts and never had a issue one.

My fix is use a 2 bolt base. Hefty handles aside it will be easier .

The Streamlined 2 bolt , the distance between them is closer, so you dont lose as much adjustability as with some others.

This is a easy fix and you never have to deal with it again

Looking at the exploded drawing, I don't see any way to fix it. It is the same bolt from the cup to the track nut so obviously tightening one tightens the other.
At least you didn't buy it new.

I’ve never been a fan of the Streamlined euro pin base. I’ve had the same Chinook Euro Pin twist on base for 10 years now and it’s never come unintentionally unscrewed. Or had any kind of failure. Only maintenance is changing the tendon when necessary.

Seems like the only fix is to get a second conical washer as you observed you are missing. I'm thinking the double washers allow free rotation of the tendon cup while the mast track bolt remains tight.

For what it's worth - I've used this single bolt base in Maui over a number of weeks as rental gear. Always worked very well. I'm guessing the original owner disassembled the base to replace tendon and missed the second washer. Worth a try.

The Euro pin base diagram is the one Streamlined sent him. He has a USBase.

This along with a 2 bolt base would be making my decision

Amazed he even got a response from Streamlined. I broke the bolt holding the cleat to the extension and sent them multiple emails asking for the spare part to repair it. Since they haven't answered, I'm switching to Chinook.

A few years back they were most helpful in rebuilding my unit.

Current status is unknown
