Any chance this could be the cause of global warming??? |
Amazing. In around a billion years. https://www.businessinsider.com/sun-destroy-earth-red-giant-white-dwarf-2016-9
Trump may be smarter than at least one person in the US. |
Do you mean like the Billion years of Data that we don't have now, and you morons base your changes on.
So no way the sun could have possibly changed the earths temperature by a half a degree in 50 years....Really??? you have no fucking idea...
I guess we could never blame that on human activity....So there goes the endless grants and wealth distribution..

Do you even read the cites that you post? WTF does a law professor know about science? I would guess nada...his undergrad is a BA. Yanno what that means? No science. Duh. |

mat-ty, you sound like the good representative Steve Stockman (R, Texas) and his interpretation of "global wobbling". Always fascinating to watch (starts around 3 min). Dana Rohrabacher, R from CA, next up, is equally fascinating. http://www.cc.com/video-clips/8q3nmm/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-burn-noticed
Aside, I briefly looked at your articles. Both acknowledge that the best evidence suggests a small effect, if that, of solar changes on current global warming. So, I'm not sure what your ranting is about. |

Small effect??? Like one half of a degree in 50 years....isn't that what the Climate Change fools have been preaching will be the end of mankind?? |

Information about both sunspots and the Maunder minimum is readily available and has been posted on this site multiple times. The Mauder minimum is the largest of those sunspot anomolies, and occurred from approximately 1645 until 1720. It had a magnitude of 1 degree Celsius--which is less than the observed increase in average temperature since the beginning of the 20th Century. All other sunspot anomolies are smaller, some much smaller.
The difference, lost on those who don't pay attention, is 1) there is no evidence that current temperatures are in any way related to cessation of sunspots, and 2) temperature anomolies associated with sunspots are temporary. |

LHDR—thanks for the clip. Would that I had the scientists calm sense of irony in the face of such massive stupidity. |

mat-ty, I know, half a degree in 50 years sounds like a small effect, doesn't it? But you have to remember, there are things in the world that your mind isn't made to think about independently, same for me. In those cases, it is not reasonable to try to do independent thinking (see the good Stockman and Rohrabacher as examples for what can then happen). Instead, you have to find and trust reliable insights into these things made by people who are smart and learned enough to do the thinking, and you have to avoid propaganda. Even that can be difficult. |
