Got a new (to me) longboard for my quiver. It is basically a Fanatic Ultra Cat. All the hardware is Fanatic with an Allgaier dagger system. It needs a new gasket. There are four screws that hold some bumpers in place on the top side of the dagger box. I removed the screws but the dagger box seems to glued in. Same with the bottom gasket. There is a black plastic gasket that looks like it is held in place by some white plastic strips. The white strips seem to be glued to the board. Does anyone know how to get the gasket off? A little help please. There is also a lot of slop in the base where it attaches to the sliding mast track. The base does not fit tightly against the track. You can tell by the marks on the track that the base moves around a lot. Is this common for this design. Thanks.

As I recall, the white plastic part of the gasket is a snap-on extrusion. Lift the black rubber section at the aft end and you should be able to see under where to insert a screwdriver or similar tool and gently pop the gasket strip assembly open. Try either from the inside edge or aft end. Be careful not to mar or dent the bottom of the board while levering the gasket strip off. Don't force it. It should just pop right off with a little persuasion. Once removed there may also be a bottom set of screws securing the centerboard cassette. I do have a few old Fanatic Ultra Cat parts around but any hope of finding new replacement gasket strips is long, long gone. If you have some skill and fortitude, there are a few different ways to put a good gasket system back on it.

I'll go out and dig through my old stuff again to make sure I'm actually giving you correct advice. Hit me back with any questions.

As for the mast track, there are a lot of generic pins that fit those track cars though most not perfectly especially if it has decades of wear. If possible try a few different Mistral/Fanatic/Cobra-compatible pins and see if one fits the car better. Some are taller or shorter and with slightly different OD's. Typically a delrin or similar low-friction spacer between the car and UJ is what is really required to tighten things up a bit without interferring with the track movement. Either way, you still need to have at least a little bit of play in there.

Popped right off like you described. Now I have to repair/replace. The reason it split is that the dagger does not line up with the slot very well. Need to find a way to adjust the dagger alignment.

Got a big-ass Fanatic Ultra Cat carbon race centerboard that could fit that though believe the cassette system on the Alpha Cat 375 is different. Think I've got the Fanatic Ultra Cat centerboard cassette too so might be direct swap. Supposedly the hull mold is the same but might need a few photos and measurements to confirm. Let me know if interested and I'll dig through my catacomb of ancient raceboard stuff.

Thanks for the offer. Sailed it yesterday and it works pretty well with the skinny dagger. Kept on feeling some movement in the mast foot. When I got home I discovered that the nut holding the cup on was just finger tight. Got lucky.
