fiberglass supply .com

You shouldn't glass the inside of the box for a lot of reasons

think of the woodies as stringers....to reinforce the outside of the box

divinycell is traditionally used to build up the box...and it doesn't need carbon...glass ok I guess...the point is that there is a lot of load on the box that wasn't built for it...

If you are prepared to loose the whole foil/swim...it should be ok.

at least make a leash for the foil

Have been told " if you got the inside of your box and sandpapered a bit, you would only have to sand thru 0.5mm and then hit a cream to yellow coloured stuff which is a few mm thick. That is still part of the box. It will not be letting water in, nor compromised much in a structural sense" hoping this is what happend and what I am seeing. Will poke it to see how hard the foam is.

Bought pc-11 epoxy, has anyone used this stuff seemed ok for $12.50. Thoughts?

I am also considering making some sort of top deck plate over top of the fin box that the screws can rest on to distribute the load a bit. Would like to know if anyone has done something similar using a thin metal plate or...?
