Rigging older Ezzy Wave S.E. Sails ??

Tuning.
You can sail 12-20 mph winds with all battens tight except the head [top],
which is number ONE.
You can sail your sail in 15-33mph winds with the leech floppy and loose to the 4th batten, the one at your boom rear end.
Depends on wind, preferences, weight, strength, board used, and intended applications.

Take a picture of your fully rig sail and e mail it to info@ezzy.com. I had a full quiver of that sail and they worked great. You need to down haul until the battens rotate to the opposite side of the mast. Then put your boom on and add out haul. His newer sails require less out haul and lots more out haul. I had to get a crank to get enough pull with that sail..

Regarding downhaul pressure..
Back in the later '90s, WS mag did a test on force required to fully downhaul, to max settings, various sails.
Some wave sails needed only 300 lbs of pull, while the softest recreational sails needed only 140 lbs.
Most non cam freerides resided in the 270-350 range, while 3-4 cam racing sails needed between 330-500 lbs of downhaul pressure.

I was dreaming..it was actually a red 6.5. Had Spectros 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7.5, and 8.
Still occasionally use 6 Pyro and 4.7 and 5.2 Converts of '97 vintage that are as good as ANYthing made in 2018 for speed, lightness, and stability.

Problem seems odd to me.

The IMCS number posted means closed to nothing. The mast bend curve itself is whats critical. Ezzys are friendly to most masts and either RDM or SDM.

A wood batten...?

What color is the duct tape ?

They need tons of downhaul, if you're old get a crank.

Then, on the water in OP conditions, you will feel like you are the pebble in a loaded slingshot and somebody is pulling back, back, back, about to fire you across the water.

New ones are much more friendly.
