Planning tomorrow morning. Right now eyeing Matunuck or Scarborough. Anyone planning to sail? Fallback option for me is Ocean Beach, New London.

Just arrived at Scarborough Beach, Narragansett, RI. Going to rig my 4.0. Winds out of NE.

So did you get out? was it good? Hope everything is okay. Too cold and miserable to be enjoyable for me. You know you're getting old when you hurt yourself sleeping.

Sorry for taking a while to report in. It definitely was not one my best of days. Spent an hour and half trying to get through the shorebreak at Scarborough, but could never find that magic opening. Ended up going over to Matunuck, rigged the 3.5, but in hindsight I should have rigged the 2.8. Ended up getting caught up in some of the breaking waves and was then quickly pulled downwind by the current. Ended up making it back to shore at Ocean Mist. Fortunately, my equipment and I survived from being thrown into the boulders on the shore. Had to take the walk of shame back to my car. When I got back the Portapotties in the parking lot had gotten blown over. Looks as though I got hit with some 50 mph gusts when I was out there

Some times you pay the price, at least you weren't in the port o pottie when it capsized. Always a good report. JP

It was just bad luck. I should never have driven over to Scarborough and should have gone to Matunuck from the get go.

First glad you are safe esp on that rocky landing-- which is what matters. Having said that I always find the humble pie tastes pretty good once back on land...must have been some huge swell!
