If you have the multi fin option, you should play around with both Thruster and Quad. I've just switched to thruster and found it to be a better fit for me. Depends on board, style and conditions obviously.

Of course, try all options. The 5 box board of mine I prefer to use as a tri, rather than quad.
Another quad board, I’m constanatly amazed how much I like 4 fins, never tried the twin in this, maybe in ‘19. _________________ K4 fins

Quite surprised too. I see the Quad as a friendly Twin (basically a Twin with added safety grip but loss of speed).
I'm not a powered side to side-off sailor so I can speak only for on-side-on to gusty side-ish. And for this, Twin is best followed by Single if you can handle !
I find having two tri boards a bit odd. _________________ *NEW* - Manu's Windsurfing Blog, The STORE! |

I have 3 tri boards. 70 ltrs , 80 ltrs, and 115 ltrs. Probably overkill on my 115, but I haven't ridden it yet. I don't sail them in waves.

I don't. In the conditions I ride it, the thrusters really improve
my confidence. I have 2 other boards that are that size (singles).
They get ridden a couple of times a year.

Do you switch between single and tri on your 80L? |
