A big thank you to IW folks for the replacement sensor at Arroyo Laguna today. The old lighthouse location was no longer available so the new location, much closer to the sailing beach, is much appreciated. A few local folks worked the spot issues too, so always nice to see teamwork in action.

Per the grass in the photo, this looks to be a good unobstructed spot for clean readings? Please update the local knowledge notes locals, once you get a feel for sensor versus on the water reality. I seriously doubt this inside information is going to result in hoards of sailors spoiling your spot. Thanks!

The old sensor was about 4 miles from the beach. The new sensor is about 400ft from the beach! It will take into next summer before we get a good feel for readings, but I sailed yesterday and thought it was pretty good so far. I plan to occasionally use my WeatherFlow portable SKY sonic anemometer station on the beach and provide data back to staff for correlation purposes.

Mike, My iwindsurf still shows that the site is down? How has the sailing been?
Believe it or not Three of us are still foiling at the pond. Short rides from inside the point to the far side. Great for learning. I can get a ride on a 5.2 in any gust 12 plus. It might be boring for you but it has me riding the pond long after everyone has quit of the season. With your windsurfing, skill you would be the guy to beat in a very short time. Come join the lite wind fun and pray for rain...

The IW classic still shows the old location and info while the newer IW shows correct location and real time data just fine. I've updated a support ticket and awaiting response but many sensors are being repaired now so it might be awhile before the can get to the fine details. Just so glad to have a sensor available there again.
As for Lopez, I'll wait and hope for rain this winter. I'm having enough fun still mowing kelp on occasion... much softer than those Lopez bush/tree stickups whipping my legs at speed on my last session there a month ago. I'm just happy we got most of the season out of it after several years of drought.

Do I understand correctly. It is still called the Arroyo Laguna sensor and is on the "new" iW map but not on the "Classic" iW map. And that the Arroyo Laguna sensor on the "Classic" is the dead reading from the original meter?

Yes, Correct. IW Classic map at bottom shows old A.L sensor. IW new map in the middle shows old sensor and new sensor locations with live readings. Top pic shows live readings from IW new map detail insert.

Yea! When we're there on the beach this spring I can check the meter instead of having to wait and ask what to rig!
