If you have a very slow connection I will soon have a forecast link on the old classic IW page with the La Ventana sensor data.
After 43 trips to Baja I have a decent handle on the wind patterns down there. For many years I did the Baja forecasts on the Baja Guide. Now after a 3-year lapse, I am starting the 2018-2019 Baja forecast season.
These forecasts are produced using all available computer models, our network of wind sensors, satellite imagery, ship reports and weather balloons as well as cams.
Once I am in Baja my 3 story house at the highest point on the bluff near the Hot Springs allows me to see the local sea breeze front when it is about 10 miles to the north of La Ventana. This makes for more accurate forecasts on pure thermal days as well as seeing El Norte swell and wind when it is still many miles to the west. This first week the forecasts will be pretty lame since it takes a while for me to grasp the overall pattern we are in this week.
