A judge has also said it's illegal to send those migrants back into Mexico. The detention centers are all overcrowded, that's inhumane, but better than Obama's cages, so where do they go? Just to wonder around the streets and alleys of the border towns? That doesn't work also.
So it's back to the sanctuary cities idea, where they are SUPPOSED to be welcomed, it's the most humane thing to do.
So why are the dems pulling out the welcome mat from beneath their feet?

| Like I said, the Dems want more funding to make the system work better. Trump wants more private jails so his buddies can make money abusing asylum seekers. Go ahead, run on putting children in cages. Worked so well in 2018. |

I can see here that those following and believing Donald Trump's illegal immigrant diatribes are just getting angrier, uglier and less willing to address the reasonable immigration reform that needs to happen.
No doubt, Trump is boldly banking on a theme of hate and division will somehow win him a second term. It is truly a dark state of mind that we see on the right these days. Folks sadly duped and spirited on by a lying con man. I'm sure glad that I'm not wearing that kind of ugly stain.
I hope that it backfires for Trump, and that thoughtful folks understand just how manifestly unfit he is to lead. I guess we'll see what America is really made of these days. |

I agree that we cannot absorb 5 billion people. I am willing to see the two parties negotiate changes to immigration law. But we are talking about 700,000 people, not 5 billion. Just to remind you—that is 0.3% of our population. I guess Bard has difficult counting beyond 20 (or 10 if he has his shoes tied.)
For context, four and a half million Irish immigrated into this country between 1820 and 1930. A much bigger percentage of the population at that time. The “know nothings” of the time opposed them. And then there is our refusal to allow Jews fleeing Nazi’s into this country.
I am not willing to let Trump ignore the existing laws, and the legal cases he keeps losing, to make sure that Bard and crew get their panties all wet.
What Matty understands about law would fit in a thimble—with room left for a kiteboarding lesson.
