NEW YORK (Reuters) - The billionaire investor Leon Black was sued on Tuesday by an autistic woman who says he raped her in the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein's mansion in Manhattan in 2002, when she was 16.
In a complaint filed in Manhattan federal court, the woman, using the pseudonym Jane Doe, said that as she was preparing to give Black a massage, Black pinned her down and penetrated her with sex toys, causing her to bleed.
She said Epstein later found her crying, but refused to let her see a doctor and said longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell would take care of her.
Black's lawyer Susan Estrich called Doe's lawsuit frivolous.
"He never met this woman," Estrich said in an interview. "He doesn't know her at all. We're confident the lawsuit is totally uncorroborated by any evidence. It has nothing to do with Leon Black."
Born with Mosaic Down Syndrome, Doe said she was lured into Epstein's orbit from a summer program for cheerleaders, and gave him massages, with she and he naked, before being "shipped off" to Black.
She is seeking damages for Black's alleged violation of a New York City law against gender-motivated violence. Her lawyer Jeanne Christensen declined to say whether Doe tried to settle.
Black co-founded private equity firm Apollo Global Management, which he left in 2021. Forbes magazine said he is worth $10.1 billion.
The lawsuit was filed the same day the U.S. Senate's finance committee said it was examining Black's treatment of several trusts, and whether $158 million he paid Epstein for tax and estate planning was properly deemed income or gifts for tax purposes.
Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking.
Black has denied other sexual abuse accusations, including in a dismissed lawsuit by former Russian model Guzel Ganieva, and a lawsuit by Cheri Pierson who also claimed he raped her in Epstein's home two decades ago.
The billionaire has also reached a $62.5 million settlement with the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Epstein had a home, to avoid a possible lawsuit.
The case is Doe v Black, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, No. 23-06418.

Wild and Graphic Accusations
The initial allegations, brought by attorney Lisa Bloom claimed Johnson was violently raped in 1994. The assault allegedly happened when the 13-year-old attended org..s organized by Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein allegedly lured Johnson by promising her a modeling career. In the withdrawn lawsuit, Johnson claimed she met Trump four times.
One encounter was described as a “savage sexual attack.” Allegedly, Johnson “loudly pleaded” for the former president to stop when he started “violently striking Plaintiff in the face with his open hand and screaming that he would do whatever he wanted.”
In the allegations, Jane Doe said she was not allowed to tell anyone or would disappear like Maria. She explained that Maria was a 12-year-old girl also allegedly violated by Trump, never to be seen again.
The name of Maria Doe remains unknown.
Epstein Was Not Happy
Johnson also alleged that Epstein complained, “I should have been 1st.”
A tweet from March 11, 2023, came with a case number and alleged transcript from the deposition.
Before the elections, at least 15 women came with similar stories about the former president. There were also alleged witnesses, Tiffany Doe and Joan Doe.
Joan Doe was Johnson’s classmate, and she learned about the alleged events as they happened. Tiffany Doe alleged that she saw the assault.
This whole story was not just overlooked, but it also brought some bizarre characters. There was a video of “Katie,” but it turned out to be Norm Lubow, a former producer on the Jerry Springer show, as Vox reported.
Trump’s Friendship With Epstein
It is well known that Trump was on friendly terms with Epstein. In the Access Hollywood tape used in the defamation trial, he infamously said, “Grab them by the pu…y.”
Trump called it “locker-room talk.”
Radar Online alleges that Epstein’s brother said that Epstein wanted to distance himself from Trump. The reason was that Epstein thought Trump was a “crook.”
The former president and Epstein, convicted of soliciting minors, started hanging out in the late 80s or 90s. They ran in the same social circles, and Trump infamously told New York magazine, “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

More than 170 Epstein associates to be named after judge unseals court records

The scores of names are contained in a long-running, now-settled defamation lawsuit brought by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre against his former fixer and convicted child trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.
Judge Loretta Preska issued the order on Monday unsealing materials connected to the case, which will identify 177 individuals previously only referred to as John Doe or Jane Doe.
The federal judge also ordered that several of Epstein victims named in the documents should be allowed to remain anonymous, as releasing their identities would “disclose sensitive information regarding an alleged minor victim of sexual abuse who has not spoken publicly and who has maintained his or her privacy.”
The order takes effect on 1 January 2024, and gives the individuals 14 days to appeal.
Ms Roberts sued Maxwell for defamation in 2015 after the British socialite called her a liar over her claims that she had been sexually abused as a minor. |

The new documents contain “incendiary claims” about the former president, including accusations that he had sexual relations with “many girls”, made by one of Epstein’s alleged victims, Sarah Ransome.
Mr Trump’s name has appeared a handful of times previously in the documents and, while not accusing him of wrongdoing, appears to illustrate the good relationship he had with the disgraced financier.
In the newly unsealed documents, Ms Ransome testified that her unnamed friend “was one of the many girls that had sexual relations with Donald Trump” – including at Epstein’s New York townhouse.
“She confided in me about her casual ‘friendship’ with Donald. Mr Trump definitely seemed to have a thing for her and she told me how he kept going on about how he liked her ‘pert nipples’,” she testified.
She then described in graphic detail how Mr Trump allegedly caused pain to the victim’s nipples – and claimed she saw the resulting injury firsthand.
“I also know she had sexual relations with Trump at Jeffery’s NY mansion on regular occasions as I once met Jen for coffee, just before she was going to meet Trump and Epstein together at his mansion,” she said.

Monday’s unsealed extracts were included in a letter sent by attorneys representing Alan Dershowitz, seeking to undermine Ms Ransome’s credibility. Ms Ransome said that she had seen sex-tapes involving prominent figures including Prince Andrew and UK billionaire Richard Branson.
Mr Trump was not alleged to have been involved in the sex tapes.
In a New Yorker article released in 2019, Ms Ransome said that “she had invented the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior, and to make him believe that she had ‘evidence that would come out if he harmed me’”.
She did not appear to address the validity of other claims from the emails in her comment to the outlet.
Steven Cheung, spokesperson for Mr Trump, told The Independent: “These baseless accusations have been fully retracted because they are simply false and have no merit.”

In part of testimony from another victim Johanna Sjoberg, it was claimed Epstein once “called up” the former president and visited one of his casinos after his private plane was diverted to Atlantic City in New Jersey.
Ms Sjoberg said that while travelling on the plane with the disgraced financier the pilots had said that they were unable to land in New York as planned.

“Jeffrey said, ‘Great, we’ll call up Trump and we’ll go to -- I don’t recall the name of the casino, but -- we’ll go to the casino’,” the testimony read. Elsewhere, Ms Sjoberg was asked if she ever gave Mr Trump a massage, to which she replied “no”.
Several more mentions of Mr Trump were made in the documents released last Friday, when Mr Alessi testified he had driven Maxwell to the former president’s Mar-A-Lago home.
Mr Alessi also said that Mr Trump would sometimes come round for dinner at Epstein’s home but ate with Mr Alessi in the kitchen. Mr Trump did not get massages at the Palm Beach house because he had “his own spa”, Mr Alessi said. |
