I get my board (80 cm X 245 cm), a 9.0 and 7.2 sail, 490 and 460 mast, two booms, an assembled AFS 95 cm foil, and all my gear into a VW Passat with the rear seats down! Have to also incline the front passenger seat back. That gear covers wind from 8-25+ mph.

Finished a full length drawer behind the passenger seat instead of milk crates. I keep all my 4X4 recovery gear there. Jack, compressor, tools, port-potty, etc.

You know it's pretty easy to shrink your pics before posting them. Rolling Eyes
Now the format is screwed up for this page, I was going to post a pic but not now.

Post a pic of how your current setup is. This is the big Nissan van:

Where could I buy a rack system like that?

It's known as Unistrut or just strut. Lowes/HomeDepot sell it as well as local electric/plumbing supply places. I get the hard to find fittings/brackets from Amazon/Ebay.

Extensive catalogs to browse and research:

https://www.unistrut.us/resources/literature
https://www.power-strut.com/index.php?Page=LItLibrary
http://www.cooperindustries.com/content/public/en/b-line/resources/Library/Literature/Catalogs.html
https://powerstrut.com/
https://www.platt.com/search.aspx?q=UNISTRUT

Or make a rack system from aluminum; more money though: https://8020.net/bookshelf

Prices for 10' sticks. Supply houses have 20' sticks.

Basic fittings and hardware selection:

4 bolts to remove the rack. Couldn't ever gets the sails strapped in place well enough they would stay in place indefinitely.

Unbolted it and changed it to be an adjustable height shelf/platform almost false floor. Still not wild about the double stacked sails and still need to find a place for the booms. Liked the floor space of the previous setup. Could always change it back. Maybe build "cubby holes" on the left wall and put the sails in them all up and down that wall between the boards. 2 or 3 columns.

Nice work, but I think there's wasted space (and wasted sailor time).
I stagger my boards forward and back so that I can leave the fins on (the ones sticking further back have no clearance problem, and these days the "forward" ones I have the tails sticking slightly outward.) When I arrive at sailing venue I just pull the board out and it's ready to go (assuming I'm happy with the fin for the conditions). I keep my booms against the right side wall. No floor..most of my sails sit above the boards, and a couple are inside of my high wind board (it's smallest)...since I know that board will be out of the van if I'm using those sails it isn't as if I'm cut off from them.

Have never felt the need for adding a floor. I like walking forward and back through the van.

(Who knows how to post a photo on this page that will show? No matter how much I shrink mine they justify to the right and warp the page.)

Do you really need a van for 2 boards and 6 sails?
We carry 8 boards, 12 sails, 5 booms, and a lotta masts.
But most is 10+ year old gear, mine.

You have a van so you can live in it and be a Windsurfer. Don't need anything but a windy day.

RTZ has used "Uni-Strut" strut channel like I did. It's unbelievably strong; I used the 1-5/8" X 1-5/8" hot-dip galvanized, and I think each arm would hold 200lbs. if needed. Also infinitely adjustable. I set the verticals for the boom side at the wheelbase of our mountain bikes so we can bring those along if needed. This is a 2017 Ford Transit, medium roof. The flag makes it private for wetsuit changes. My 11'9" SUP on top, followed by my wife's 10'6", then 4 windsurf boards.
