One of my longest running flames ;*)

p.s. My Gorge sails run 3.2, 3.7, 4.2, 4.7, 5.2, 5.7, 6.7

with plenty of overlap (except in the 3.2 to 3.7 range).

Good from 16MPH to about 39.5MPH ;*)

I could get by with 3.7, 4.2, 5.2, 6.7

Less is better. At 165 lbs. I go 4.2, 4.7, 5.5, 6.5 All depends where you sail and your local winds

huge gaps may spoil a day if one tears or breaks a key size. better to have a bit of overlap. esp true for surf sailors. and in most commonly used size range.

Amen. I tried a wider-spaced quiver once years ago (even had one or two custom sizes to achieve it). It worked, but a) I was always concerned about the impact of a broken sail and b) there's nothing like juuuust the right sail on that very rare perfect day.

Absolutely agree. Overlap is good.
