I'll add that I didn't have to pay a cent for my replacement wing, and it came pretty quick. I've put a lot of sessions on the new wing now with no signs of any trouble.

Though I don't have any other hydrofoil experience to compare with, I've found foiling on the Slingshot Infinity 76 setup to be everything that I hoped foiling would be: Early 'planeing' with small sails, eerie yet delightful sensation of smooth flight, amazing upwind/downwind angles, and waveboard-like carving ability. I've been using it with camless wave or freeride sails from 4.7 to 8.0, mostly in 8-15 kt winds. My speeds are not impressive compared to regular shortboard windsurfing- Default cruising speed 10-12 knots and have not broken the 20 knot barrier. But I'm having fun at these speeds, whereas I think I'd be terrified at 20+ knots on the foil. Haven't completed a foiling jibe yet but I'm getting a little closer.

Thanks for the reply Wyatt.
I plan on getting a 2019 foil soon with the 76. I thought that would be a good size wing for me considering I'm on the lighter side and plan on using it in a wide variety of conditions on a jp 135. I know you have mentioned m6 fin bolts breaking w/ bolt adaptors. But I'm hoping to not have to drill out the board right off the bat....so will use a leash!

There was definitely a bad batch of the 76's with that front delam problem.

Is there a serial/batch number or production date range subject to this flaw?

The next time you feel a odd sensation on your infinity 76 and the tide is pushing you further away from the launch think about this thread. Shocked

You have to remember that these foils are basically hand made, just like windsurf boards. They don't just pop out of a machine, there are guys hand sanding all day, so there can always be some human error.

Really? Handmade? No curing under pressure in a mold but instead ... sanded? From what? a block of fiber?

Could be hand played glass, then into a heat mold to squeeze out rein and force a tight bond.
Does'nt have to be 100% made by hand

I was joking, the only place hand sanding comes into the picture when building a foil is to finish it after it comes out of a mold. And that cannot be responsible for delamination of structural failure.

Failures seen in the pictures reported in these thread are structural and due to lack of resin penetration, or bad materials, or incorrect curing.

Foam blanks are covered with glass by hand, then placed in molds for heat and pressure curing.
If the seam is near the leading edge....

Or insufficient saturation.
