Surfer today has an article out on this new blow up sail but cannot find anything at Naish. The picture in the article does beg the question, what happens when you lose your grip, I can see that sail blowing downwind in a flash? Seems almost like a disposable solution but I guess it does ditch the mast, boom, etc so must be quite a bit lighter.

Looks like a leash on his left wrist.

Oh,. sure ... tie me to my kite, fer sure!
Wasn't this done 30+ years ago ... the Wind Weapon by Tom Magruder? At least he used a harness and hook rather than a death leash.

It only works because of how little rig is required to foil. Also the leash position depowers it.
Although not my thing (I think) it could make a fun light wind travel quiver for those who don't want to kite.

They're not foiling. They're windsurfing, with their body functioning as the only power train between the engine and the rear tires ... just the opposite of letting the hardware do almost of the work.

Read the article Mike, they are on either foil or SUP.
I can handsail all day on a foil, the rig forces really are that light. Reduce the total weight then remove MBP and I guarantee those forces get even less.
