Saturday, April 27: At the bottom is a new animation showing how the shape of the North Pacific High is dramatically impacting the winds in the Bay Area, Southern California and The Gorge.
It is easy to think that your wind is created by local events like just the pressure gradient to the Columbia but in reality, distant events are crucial in making the winds at every site near the west coast.
