I want to see which sail manufacturer uses that tech first, regardless of if it makes its way into wings.
I don't even care about less weight, I want the durability. |

There is a video, from Europe, of a person foiling powered by an umbrella. |

I ordered the SlingWing and the Outwit SUP Foil board. I hope to have them by the first week in August.
Easier in the swell and easier to jibe are two things I really like about the Wing.
I also like the way it floats behind you like you are holding nothing more than a carbon paddle when on a swell.
I think the upwind could be better too as you can roll the board over more with no mast foot pressure.
My only concern is will it do light wind. 4.2 is small. I never run my 4 or even my 5 sail in light wind now. I use my 6. No one kites light wind with a 4 either, so that is a concern. _________________ Bryn Kaufman

Wing guys out on the Naish 4.2 me on a 4.2 windsurfing sail. I could get going on foil much sooner. I could pump much harder than the wing guys which gave me an advantage. |

Thanks for the report.
I heard that, but it was third hand info.
Pumping seems to be worth around 3 mph wind, so a significant part of sailing in sub 15 breezes. |

This discussion is about three completely different "wings"???
OIC Duotone = North

Novaan, if you were on a 4.2 there must have been some pretty good wind.
Please keep us posted on what happens on a light wind day when you use a larger sail.
Also we have to keep in mind the Wing guys are just learning.
Not sure how long it took before you were planing in the foot straps in windsurfing but it took me a good amount of time.
In 2 to 3 months we will have a lot more answers once these Wings start to ship.
I heard the 5.0 Duotone will get a < 190 lbs. person on a floaty board going in 10 knots. If I can go in 10 knots I am good. I might have to get the larger Wing like having different sail sizes. _________________ Bryn Kaufman

I think the Duotone has the potential for more tuning because of the adjustable "boom". |

Would this actually make sense to begin with?
Sail+Boom+Mast= MFP
Wing = No_MFP
