Hi Gang,
Watch the eddy below as enlarges fast from dawn and keeps moving about even at 5 PM.
Its winds along the coast were pure south midday which was less favorable for many sites. But in the afternoon it moved again and winds became really SW favoring Pt. Isabel, Larkspur and Crissy.
This was a really tough forecast since the upper trough mixed out the fog at times.
Look carefully at the fog in the Hwy. 92 and Muir Gap. These are the only SW facing gaps in the Bay Area. Paradoxically the Hwy. 92 Gap kills 3rd. while the Muir Gap jacks up Larkspur wind.

I frankly cannot remember pure S winds in summer. Maybe my memory lapses but in the mean time it might be time to pick a different sport ... they do fine in 3 knots

As it turns out - the wind down grade should not have included the East Bay and especially PI which was absolutely ripping! The sensor readings didn't do justice to the wind speeds just up wind.
It did not matter how small one rigged they were still OP'ed (even after re-rigging). Brings back memories of years past when it would blow like this for much of the summer in the East Bay.
It's not often where one sees loops being landed at PI! EPIC DAY!

Look carefully at the eddies winds along the coast mid-day when I did the 11:30 AM forecast. There were almost SSE which would have really weakened the East Bay winds.
The nature of eddies, dust devils, tornados, politicians etc is to wobble unpredictably. And, fortunately for the East Bay crew, the eddy later wobbled just right to enhance the SW winds in the N. Olympic Circle and Brook's Island zone.
These are the best sailing/kiting waters inside the Bay when it RIPS!
