I can share. I am betting that with higher water, north Kant to the wind, weeds and the difficulty landing-- there will be less than a mob scene of kiters here. It really will be an advanced launch even with improvements in access. Let's give it a chance and see what happens. |

My thoughts are hell yes!!!

Love it
It's now CGW2, by the way...of which I am a dues paying member, as is my wife, who only windsurfs. |

Great, another of the few beaches we can launch to windsurf and kite with our friends and family!

Its a good point that Doug's will be a challenging/advanced launch. I kite, too, but just don't want Doug's to turn into the event site.
I've launched Victor and several friends in the pocket above the windsurf launch the past two summers. Then, some vacationer showed up with three 10-12 year old beginner kiters and he leaves them to launch themselves while he went windsurfing. It was a real shit show. Dad said he heard it was OK to launch kites at Doug's.
Hopefully, we can keep Doug's a "locals" spot and avoid the mass of tourons. |

Absolutely fantastic. I windsurf, my kids kite, very few spots we can enjoy this together. The Kiter can vade out in the shallow bay while kite is being launched. Much safer then the gusty and rocky launch at Rowena. |
