Sorry to say that its looking pretty bad for a full summer at the lake. Level is just over 50% and heading down everyday. We haven't had rain in over a month and its not looking good anytime soon. I went foiling the other day and noticed weed tops sticking up in the down wind windsurfing area. So far we stand at 40% normal rain fall. None of the creeks are flowing. There is still time to add water but we need some strong storms to hit this area. Without rain it might not be worth driving up after May. |

Drought year so far.
Usually good wind up here with little rain.
When NW kicks up, head for the coast.
But major road reconstruct here at CSC Berkeley means rain will come to delay the project thru June. |

Hope for a Lopez March Miracle as has happened before, but at least there's plenty of water now for fun days like today... hit 21 avg with 2 ws foils and 2 wing's out. |

And I though our water was cold. Up here in northern Ca, Folsom Lake got down to 51 in the dead of winter. It warmed up to 53 last week but has cooled down to 52 today. Temperature is taken at a depth of 3' every 15 minutes.
Another big north wind on Monday coming so it could be another epic day.

Eva, I just got a O'Neill Psycho Tech 5.5/4 and it is the toastier wet suit ever. Basically sealed, ultra-comfy and flexible, with a pair of booties I get in the water without any problem!
NB They are on sale right now at Big Winds |

Berkeley mid 50's.
Yesterday out foiling with summer 3 year old 4/3 unzipped till I fell in in a zero lull. Zipped the suit up immediately and foiled till 5pm.
Too bad I rigged 6.6. But was challenging in the gusts around 18. |

thanks for that! I sail in a 3/2 with added layers as needed, and am generally fine - except for my hands: have not found a solution that leaves me with a decent grip on my booms. The last glove-trial was almost comical: I'd be good in a straight line, but dropped the rig every single time, coming out of a jibe...
o well, spring seems in the air! |
